It was. That's what's weird. If you selected the "onsale times" link, this sale came up. The ticket limits were changed as well, to 2.

Especially Someone like you who has been to dozens of shows, taped, shared the music with others, introduced friends/family to the band spent thousands on travel etc. surely deserves to see them on their final tour. In my mind, you are more "worthy" of a ticket than I due to your passion and what you have shared with the community. Similarly, I feel that I am more "worthy" than a casual fan who has tagged along for a few times over the years, or someone who is going for the first time because it's the "hot ticket" and their last chance to see a band they have never taken the chance to see before. However, I have no delusions and realize this doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Not to ticket master, not to the band, and certainly not to the scalpers - but it doesn't change how I think and feel about it.

A hipbase "section" for kingston would be quite special. I would rather sit in the back row behind the stage with like minded basers than pay for platinum seats and sit beside a rich guy who knows the radio hits and his wife who tagged along for a date. Or one of the many people I know who have come out of the woodwork "excited" to talk to me about the hip and try for tickets now that they are makjng news .

can't give up...will continue daily in the attempt to get to Kingston

Hey now, there's at least of couple of us with platinum here. I do have fears of being surrounded by these people though.

According to this I am a bandwagoner from Yellowknife, NWT. I starting getting into the band around 1991 with Road Apples while away at school in Edmonton. Picked up the first two albums and every one since. Hip music was always there with me throughout 20+ years of working in remote northern communities in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. When I moved with my wife and family to Hay River we drove 12 hours the Edmonton in 2007 to see World Container, all 6 of us. I joined Hipbase at that time as a way to connect with other fans. Wanted to attend other tours, but just too far away from where we live. Now, my wife and I are going to be on the floor in Edmonton for night 1 for our 2nd show. Can't wait to rock out!

So I'm sure there are other fans like me that don't post regularly, but that doesn't mean we don't love the music.

This kinda sums up how I have been feeling reading some of the posts here:

Vic, this group has been here all along, if anybody was a huge hip fan they would already be here, you know at least 60% of people wanting to go to these shows had no innerest before the announcement about Gord. I feel that there is a pecking order, 1 fans who have ALWAYS been there over and over again, those of us who bought tickets to shows that could not even sell out. 2 fans who have gone to a lot of shows but for some reason are not able to go to as many as they would like but are always active in forums like this. and then number 3. people who have gone once or twice and could not be bothered to support the band by buying merch all the time and never buy tickets to shows in their home towns that have not sold out and now all of the sudden MUST go to a show. I really feel there is a sort of pecking order. Its like a highway merge lane, there are those of us who wait patiently for the lane to flow and then those who feel that they don't need to wait like everybody else and just run that lane all the way up to the front and bud in line of those who have always been there.

I totally disagree with this as both a long time hipbase contributor and long time fan. There is no pecking order and their really isn't any justification around whether any of it is fair or not. I just is the way it turned out. Some people feel they are owed something because of the time they have engaged with the band live or online with fans but I really don't agree that anyone can "outfan" someone because they think they are a bigger fan. You don't need to buy every piece of merch or see every tour to be just as big of a fan of the music, which I don't think being on a fan forum is a reflection of. Just my opinion.

What made you draw that (bolded) conclusion? No one is calling someone who joined hipbase in 2006 a bandwagoner. There are, however, many people jumping on the bandwagon in the wake of Gord's news that otherwise never would have considered buying tickets for a tour supporting MMP. As Wesley posted, "at least 60% of people wanting to go to these shows had no innerest before the announcement about Gord," they are the bandwagoners.

Im not sure that many of us are trying to "outfan" one another. Rather, many of us were left upset and ticketless after taking one or two mornings off work for the "fan club presale" and are voicing displeasure that most tickets seemed to ended up outside of the "fan club." We are now faced with the dilemma of hoping to somehow score a tough ticket or paying above face value because of the way things unfolded. Hipbase fans who would have bought tickets regardless faced an uphill battle when the cancer announcement was made pre-tour, putting it on the radar for scalpers and many random buyers. Some of these buyers were able to sign up for the code THE NIGHT BEFORE and buy 4 (!) tickets. You didn't need to be a fan of the band, buy any pieces of merch, have seen ANY tour or even a be fan of the music to recognize and seize the opportunity to capitalize. Understandably, that didn't sit well with those of us who ended up empty handed and some of us have posted here to vent amongst fans who can relate.

Ticketmaster now lists tues June 14 (tomorrow) at 10am as the rear view on sale.
