Someone posted an article here about why fans can't get the best tickets and one reason is that the artists or their management often list the tickets on the secondary market.
I wouldn't blame them if they did it but if it was them I'd rather it was instead of some group of scumbags scalping tickets.
I don't know the band but this doesn't sound like anything they'd be into.
Besides, Gord and Co have done more than OK over their career financially to have to worry about scalping tickets.
I really don't think so either. Than can do no wrong in my mind, I'm just thinking "What if?"
And if they did I would be ok with it.
Someone in another thread (can't remember which one) actually exchanged tweets with Rob Baker about this. He mentioned, and I'm paraphrasing here, that the band was very concerned and not happy about the ticket fiasco...for what it's worth.

Prices usually go up because fans are buying the cheapest tickets, leaving the more expensive ones on the broker sites. Prices will not drop until the concert date is close.
Ottawa has done perhaps the best job I have ever seen keeping tix away from scalpers.
There are no seats available within three sections of the stage, on the floor or lowers on stubhub and ticketsnow.
Must be the cc entry doing the job. Despite the bad press, TTH should be applauded.
Or the bots just weren't designed for Ottawa's ticketing page. Scalping Senators tickets isn't usually a big issue
Victoria uses the same website (evenue).
Ticketmaster will be taking over Ottawa tickets in the next few months though.
That must be a big reason, 2 of the other non NHL city shows Hamilton and London, also have very few seats for sale on stubhub in the first 20 rows.
But if these seats are non transferable, the only explanation is they are sponsor or big season ticket holders that get special access to transferable tix in nhl arenas?

My question is where are all the good tickets for the Ottawa show? I haven't heard anyone get good seats for that show. I know there were platinum tickets available, but that doesn't explain it all. Victoria is the same way. I'm wondering if scalpers are just waiting a while to post their tickets? I wouldn't be surprised to see a jump in ticket availability on Stub Hub and the like closer to the actual concerts. Plus, when you search Kijiji, there are quite a few good seats available (for an exorbitant amount of money, of course).

I had been negative on Capital Tickets -- for the presale I got a pair of 19 row floors, which at the time I was thinking was a bit disappointing based on previous presales...now grateful.
The odd thing is there was none of the usual captcha controls on the Capital Tickets site. I guess it's a case, like said above, where it does not make sense to create the automation for mass ticket purchases for a site that sells a limited number of events in a smaller market. I'd also read about how the purchasing bots totally bypass the "choose your seats" process and goes straight to purchase, so write the code once and it works for all TM events.
All that said, I know about 20 people who were on the general sale, only one for 4 seats. Everyone else shut out.
I got floors on Ottawa first try through Capital Tickets.
Very few tickets on StubHub. 75% of HipBase has tickets, many for multiple cities. Conspiracy? Robots? Isn't the logical explanation just that a lot of people want to see the final shows for one of the most popular bands in the country's history?
