People do NOT BUY tickets from anyone other than the venue. They are either counterfeit or unusable. See the following disclaimer on Ticketmaster:

Quote:Day of show box office pick up only, The credit card you used to pay
for the tickets and photo I.D. are required to pick up your tickets.
Name on credit card and Photo Id must match. Tickets are will-call
only and non-transferable. Tickets will be rendered invalid if resold.

More venues are doing this now and they ARE enforcing it. They had this requirement for Dave Chappelle in Toronto and they made me show my credit card.

Board admins please consider pinning this post.
It's pretty clear on the site too. For the larger venues, the crappier seats don't have this restriction though.
Just bumping this topic to warn basers buying scalped tickets...there will be lots of vultures out...be careful as many of these seats are non-transferable!
There are usually exceptions to these rules for arena season ticket holders. Still though, there will be a LOT of fake tickets out there for an event like this with such a high demand.
How would they enforce this when most of the tickets will probably be bought this way? You'll have empty arenas with thousands of angry people who've spent a lot of money for nothing. Just crazy.
...Unless the band announces soon that all tickets not purchased on Ticketmaster are invalid and force refunds.

The policy quoted above was clearly stated on Ticketmaster. I can't say for sure that they will enforce it but I will say it was enforced at a show I was at earlier this year. I'm just trying to make sure basers are aware of the policy. Before you buy any scapled tickets I would check with the venue to be sure those seats are transferable. Most ARE NOT.
I just looked at the print-at-home tickets for the ACC show, there is no difference between the 300 and floor tickets words-wise. Are we *sure* this is CC entry only? Looks like a standard ticket entry to me...

credit card entry only applies to certain sections. It will be enforced for sure, but its usually just for the best seats, ie most of the floor and the best lower bowl seats. Plus certain corporate seats and season ticket holder seats usually are exempt from these rules. Stubhub seats are also guaranteed, so worst case scenario you're stuck outside the building but you get your money back, although this would still be a huge nightmare. I'd avoid kijiji and ebay altogether though and your best to still just hold out for the public onsale.

If you compare the kingston show to a show without the credit card entry policy, you'll see that the number of tickets on resale sights is pretty small. Its mostly just the tickets in the sections that the credit card rules dont apply to.

Doesn't' say this anywhere on any of the tickets though. I am confident that these are all just standard tickets. CC-entry is the same thing as "paperless" tickets. These are e-tickets, but does anyone see "paperless' in their order history?

Section 325, 107, 101, and Floor L - all the same.

They look identical to the Ben Folds GA tickets I just used a couple weeks ago.
When you buy tickets, if they are credit card entry the transaction and email confirmation will clearly state credit card entry. You can't print anything off, you use your credit card and photo ID at the door to get in. If you have an option to print them, they aren't CC entry. Also CC entry not the same as paperless, paperless just means you can pull them up on your phone (which you could still transfer). There is NO way to transfer CC entry tickets (unless the seller goes with you to the door and lets you in).

My tickets say: You won't receive paper tickets for this event.
Your plastic gets you in. Cardholders simply present the credit card used for purchase at the gate along with a valid photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport). If you bought for a group, everyone must enter together. Tickets are non-transferrable.

Im just guessing, but those sections ofr your seats probably arent paperless. For toronto its likely 109, 108, 118, 119 and then the first 20 or so rows of the floor. If you can print a pdf ticket you're probably fine. I dont have a pdf option on mine.
