Funny story. I was listening to Edge 102.1 (Local radio station in Toronto) on my way in to work this morning and they had Kirk Muller as a guest on the show. They were asking him questions about what's he's doing these days. One of the guests asked Kirk if he'd play in his Brampton Men's league. He said he just bought his goalie gear and they'd both play net together. Dean the host of the show asked Kirk that since he lives in Kingston if he's ever seen or played hockey with the hip boys. Kirk said there was a lot of rivalry between the band mates as they all have their favorite teams (Gord D - Boston), (Baker - Canadiens), (Fay, Sinclair,Langlois - Leafs). Kirk invited Gord Downie to play goalie one afternoon with the ex nhlers. Doug Gilmour and Wendal Clark to name a few anyways. Anyways Kirk said that Wendal just tore down the left side of the ice and wired this huge wrist shot right at Gord's chest that nearly took him over. Kirk said, "Ease up their man, you're toying with his pride and joy." That being his singing voice. Wendal was like "Huh" and Kirk said, "That's the lead singer of The Tragically Hip." Apparently you had to be there, but it sounded funny just how Kirk was talking about how thehip are good friends of his. Hope you enjoyed this little story.
