My son lives in Memphis TN and is coming into town (DETROIT) the weekend The Hip are playing Windsor. Being so close to Canada, I obviously have a passport but my son (he's in his 20's) doesn't have one (TN doesn't offer enhanced license). I'd love him to see the Hip while he's here and I don't mind shelling out whatever the ticket prices are but I don't want to shell out another $200 for a passport for him... Anyone have a suggestion? Anyone dealt with this coming over for a show recently?

Thanks so much! I'm still on the fence whether I am going to give it a shot or not....
I am of the understanding that entering the US without a passport is not possible. Going North maybe not so much a problem. Check the state dept site. Travel.state.gov

That's what I'm thinking. Getting to the show might not be too much of an issue but returning home might be

In the future, this is a good option for US Citizens crossing the land border to Canada or Mexico. You can't use it to travel to either place via plane. Pretty cheap and it is also good for some cruise line trips (Caribbean and Bermuda).
