Figures that Gord's actually trying this time around so there will be complaints about something else.. Wink

I'm hoping they keep switching out a couple songs here and there throughout the tour. Especially in Kingston. I got Tiger the Lion as an encore there in '09, that was pretty cool.
All I ask for is "Bring It All Back" and I will be so happy, They can play all of FC and just "Bring It All Back" then leave and I wont complain.

Call it a workhorse if you want, but they could honestly play "Grace Too" 5 times in a row before and after the FC set and I would still be happy. Doesn't matter how many times I hear it live, as soon as I hear that bass line intro....instant goose bumps.

Hopefully they will mix it up a tiny bit though. Would be nice to see a couple golden nuggets turn up.
I agree with the original post. For the ridiculous amounts of money they're charging for these shows, they should really be playing longer sets to make it worthwhile for the fans who bought tickets. And so far there hasn't been much setlist variation for the first three shows. Playing FC in it's entirety is cool, but those other 10 songs should be reserved for deeper album cuts and rarities from the back catalogue instead of the usual radio hits we've heard a bazillion times (Music, In View, Blow, NOIS etc..)

I'll say this though: from the youtube clips I've seen from this tour, it's really nice to hear Gord singing again. Not sure if he was made aware of the fans' concerns, or perhaps he hired a vocal coach, or maybe he just made a decision to dial down the screaming. Whatever the case, his singing has been pretty damn good so far from what I've heard. So I gotta give props to Gord for making what seems like a conscious effort to improve. If he continues to sing this well for the remainder of the tour, they should definitely film a DVD/bluray for these shows. Might as well do it now while he's on his game.
my first show was in feb 1990
that's 25 years ago

i find it completely senseless to complain about anything these days

i'm just fucking grateful we are all still alive...
Something I think would've been cool for this tour: playing Fully Completely in its entirety, but not in order. Structure it like a "regular" show, with the caveat that, along the way, you'll hear these twelve songs. It'd be kind of like the World Container warm-up shows, which were spectacular. At the first of the two I saw, for instance, I got "Fifty Mission Cap" for only the second time, "The Dire Wolf," and "On the Verge," the latter of which I never dreamed I'd hear...and yet they also played enough hits that the casual concertgoer would've been sated as well as the new album in its entirety (that was the show where, I believe, the wretched "Last Night I Dreamed You Didn't Love Me" had its live death). Anyway: with regards to the original post, I'm not a fan of complete album performances whether it's the Hip, Springsteen, Pearl Jam, or anybody else doing it. The one exception: the Who performing Quadrophenia, but that's different. But if Gord really is trying to sing on this tour I'm gonna give thought to flying out for the Kingston show. Waiting on reports from the arena leg Wink

You're not alone. It's my 2nd favorite song on WC behind the Drop Off.

I'm glad I have company! I dig the lyrics and the odd but cool drumming of johnny Fay on that tune
I love World Container. Starting with Summer Fling before its release to the end of the tour, I saw so many shows and was never unhappy.

A few years ago I created a thread asking everyone to rank their favorite Hip albums to see what our collective favorite was, and I think it landed in the middle of the pack. I wonder how it would fair if I did something similar now.

October 22, 2006, night 1/4 at the Phoenix in Toronto. That was maybe the best Hip experience I've had (out of 20 shows). You're right about the setlist. It was a great balance - a full album, great mix of rarities and some top hits as well. 22 songs that night like this tour.

Was there for the final night. Three Pistols, 38 Years Old, Don't Wake Daddy, Lionized, Unplucked Gems, Sherpa. Had the entire WC album played, yet was still one of the best set lists I had ever witnessed.
Oh those Phoenix shows.... What a run. I loved that tour...
