Chris Hadfield was in Kingston tonight doing a reading/speaking engagement for his new book. A friend who attended said that he performed Space Oddity with Rob Baker.

So it's been a couple years since I last posted on the board so I thought I'd post about this. I worked audio/visual for this event at the Days Inn in Kingston on Nov. 27, 2014. A charity event which included a silent auction, dinner and featured astronaut Chris Hadfield who spoke for an hour about his experiences and book. The Hip were at table 21 and included Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair and family.
Rob & Gord played with Hadfield after his speech to Space Oddity (acoustic). I helped with soundcheck before, got a photo with them both and chatted with them throughout the evening with whatever they needed. I asked Rob if there was anything new with the band and he mentioned that they were at their studio the night before and there are 6 songs or so that they are currently working on....so that was exciting to hear!
After Hadfields' speech, we prepped the guitars and mics and I was able to shoot the performance on my phone from the side with a good view of Rob and Chris, behind Gord unfortunately....audio is good as I was beside a speaker but you may want to turn things down on the link, I tried my best to shoot anything....first time posting on YouTube actually. A great night for sure!
