For some unknown reason I looked at my user control page today. Says I joined Oct 6, 2004. Damn that was a fast 10 years. And this site is still going. Nice to see that. :thumb: (A lot more anti-Gord singing now than then but I digress).
I joined in September 2004. Shortly after I saw them for the second time at the Molson Amphitheatre on Canada Day that year. My life was very different. I'd just started dating my then-girlfriend and we've been married for eight and a half years now. No kids then, now I have three. I've been glad for the Base.
I had a similar epiphany just today when reading the comments about Gord's singing and thinking I had never seen so much negative talk since I had joined, which was back in September 28th of 2004. I had caught the Hip quite a few times, but was making my first trek over to the States to see them and was looking for a bit of advice for the show.
Its insane how quickly time goes.
Haven't been around that long but its been a great experience so far. Joined shortly I realized how much I missed the Henhouse user group, any Henhosers out there?
I remember being at that Molson Amp show and being impressed by Gord's voice. 10 years changes many things, I guess.

I haven't been around here a lot over the last few years, but when I joined up in '02 there were for sure active posters from the henhouse user group. :thumb:

I lurked around after the 2004 tour, but didn't sign up until April 2005. Hard to believe that I will soon be hardcore baser for 10 years next spring.
That means I joined when I was 16. I don't even want to look at my post history... I'm sure there's lots of embarrassing coming-of-age nuggets in there!
I could not have predicted that ten years on, my love of Das Hip has only grown stronger.
So thanks to this whole community for putting up with this former Teenage Dirtbag!

Oh man. Even in interviews the band has said they're a little embarrassed of IVL. A reissue would actually be a little hilarious.
I also joined in 2004 after the old newsgroup alt.music.tragicallyhip died a slow death.
