I just cannot get anything right today.
Great show last night in Calgary! We got down there around 10 pm and the place was packed. We missed most of Pete Murray, but we liked the two songs we heard. He seems to be quite popular with the ladies, and Greg Ball kept making jokes about how attractive the guy is. Greg and his band are a lot of fun. Reminds me of a Canadian Jason Isbell. Paul's set was great, and of course his band is fantastic. Pretty cool to see him and Robby perform in such a tiny venue. Picked up a hard copy of Not Guilty at the merch table, which was a nice treat since you can't find it anywhere out here.

while the show was great the crowd sucked big time
why people come to shows just to chat excessively, and to "be seen", is beyond my comprehension
i've been to a lot of shows at the horseshoe and the crowd made the show way less than great

"Great show, but unfortunately this recording also captures the office party that came out and not only hung around me all night but talked their way through the entire concert."
:nooooo :nooooo :nooooo :censored
The Horseshoe show was a complete contrast to the Kingston show. I thought that with it being mainly friends and family in the crowd that people would get up and dance and have a good time. Nope, everybody sat and was polite the entire show!!
Paul talked a lot more though - giving long introductions to each song. I did my first real attempt at taping the show (ah, I can't believe I caved and joined this group!). I've passed it along and if others think it is decent, I'll share it.
For now, here are just a couple of videos I took:

If anyone's interested I'll leave a copy of the Kingston show on dropbox for the day. Huge thanks to Scott for editing (and for all the notes/tips), it turned out great!

Ashtrayrock, you'll like this one, there is absolutely no talking during the songs!
Thanks Sarah, I got the Kingston show off ya, and how do you like my Waterloo taping? I am loving it. The Horseshoe show was good but for the noisy people standing behind us yapping and yapping and the drunk girls laughing and talking out loud, I mean for fuck sakes people its a nice intimate show now shut up and go away. Best 2 club shows I have seen in a long time though. Waterloo is epic in my mind as you can hear Paul comment how much of a great crowd we are in the recording a few times. Nice applauds and engaged audience, nobody was yapping about work or crap, everybody was just into the music. I wish he did the tour again so I could go see it again. Hopefully a dvd makes its way out of that night. Some real exceptional footage and sound floating around for sure. I should upload my recording of the waterloo show that has been separated into individual songs onto my dropbox, anybody interested?
I am interested in hearing it. I wasn't able to make it to any shows so I enjoy listening to what I can.
