IMO The Hip are missing a huge opportunity here. Why release shitty MOV reissues instead of a box set or quality individual releases with some retrospective extras. Also surprised that they are not promoting this through the mailing lists. Feels very lazy and half-assed.
revamped-remastered catalog dbl LP or CD of record w/ demos, concerts, b-sides, covers etc.
THEN I'd be in!!!!!

How are they turning a blind eye to the fact that people are shelling out huge dough for the OPs. So many other bands are capitalizing on the demand for vinyl right now, its a bummer one of my favorite bands isnt.

The Hip Club anyone?
They'll do the individual LP re-issues for each album first. Then after a period of time the box set of entire discography on vinyl would be released...
Cash Cow.
As much as "we" love this band and continue to support them (road trips, merchandise, music sales, etc), the demand/market for Hip things like re-issued vinyl, box sets, etc, is minuscule in the big picture.

Exactly. I could see them maybe doing re-issues of all the albums on CD with the remastered treatment, but I don't think we'll see another box set or anything of that nature until maybe after they hang it up.
I saw "Yer Favourites" at Costco yesterday for $6.99 . How embarassing that it sells for that little.

Yer Favourites has been out for 8 years, and the cost of CDs has dropped dramatically in order to move units. It's not really that surprising that it's $6.99. Pretty sure I saw it at HMV a couple weeks ago for $5.00.
