Just thought I'd pass this along for the information of anyone who might be interested in pulling down one or more of the Watchmen's final shows...

Once again, $10 seems a little steep, but I suppose it will ultimately depend on what you get for your money...

(Funny that the final show in the 'Peg hasn't sold out yet... cratch: :? )

All indications are that they will be VERY eclectic, with lots of old stuff, some newer stuff and the occasional "surprise"...the vibes I'm getting from the mailers and forum discussions are that it might be something like a mini "Evening with..." sort of tour...

I know they've done many covers over the years (particularly Danny doing acapella versions of Billy Bragg tunes, and some Police and REM tunes by the whole band), so it wouldn't suprise me if they "NOIS" one or two of those as well ("NOIS" = hipspeak; verb = to incorporate songs into the middle of other songs... :thumb: )...

Over at the band's site forum, fans have been posting their request lists and the band has acknowledged that they "are listening" to what people suggest. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

The first indication of what to expect comes tonight in Calgary...

Just to follow-up for mark's post above...

The only hint about the quality I could find was this posting from Joey Serlin (aka. "j.s.") on the band's forum:

They won't be SHNs. Most people don't even know what they are, and I don't think they'd sell any if they were in SHN format. 99% of people do not care about SHNs and don't want to waste time downloading, and the Watchmen probably know this. Let's not forget they're trying to make one last cash grab before they break up, they will go for the masses with MP3s like Gord did.

Well, the early reviews are in, and it looks like anyone taking in a show on this tour should plan on a late night...

Last night in Calgary, the band played for 2 and a half hours (until 2:00am local), and included FOUR ( hock: ) encores...
