I haven't had a chance to hear this show yet. I don't even know if there is a source out there. I do know this... A good friend of mine went to this show and I am very jealous of that. This is easily the setlist of the tour so far. We didn't know it at the time because it was only the 3rd show in. Patterns had not yet developed. At this point it looked like we were going to be treated to eclectic setlist after eclectic setlist. To some extent we were, but the deep cuts never got any deeper than on this night. At least not in the quantities we saw here...
This is a show sans Grace Too, Bobcaygeon, Blow At High Dough, Poets, Gift Shop, Little Bones, New Orleans Is Sinking and My Music At Work. None of those crutches were leaned on here. But this is a powerful collection of songs to be sure. It shows the incredible depth that The Hip catalog has. It shows what is possible. It is not a lazy setlist.
Here's something pretty cool... 5 songs have been played only ONCE on this tour so far. 4 of those 5 were played at this specific show in Rochester, NY. If you attended this show you saw the only versions of Done And Done, Locked In The Trunk Of A Car, Yawning Or Snarling and Three Pistols played this tour.
It doesn't end there. Attendees of this show also saw Daredevil, Don't Wake Daddy and On The Verge. These songs were only played twice each in the 22 show tour.
Is there more? You bet. Morning Moon was only played 3 times all tour and yes, one of the performances was at this show. Long Time Running and So Hard Done By were played 4 times each and yet they both appeared in the Rochester setlist. Family Band was played 5 times in total. Yep. Rochester too.
The Modern Spirit would have made this list too if not for a late tour rally. It was played in 3 of the last four shows.
So what happened then? Why Rochester? It was the closest show to their home on this tour so it stands to reason that the band may have had some good friends there that maybe had some favorites that they wanted to hear. Daredevil makes sense just based on geography. Maybe someone doesn't like the way a song is sounding and they just decide to drop it?
When a song like Ahead By A Century or New Orleans or Courage gets played it's immediately recognizable and the casual fans who yes, do make up the majority of the audience cheer noticeably louder. Three Pistols or On The Verge can close a set just as good, if not better than a song like My Music At Work, but the fact is the casual fan is not that familiar with the in-your-face power of a dynamic On The Verge. The Man, The Legend, The Goat, The Satyr if you will... Maybe the band likes to hear the crowd recognition from the stage? Or maybe they feel like the songs that generate the most cheers are the ones that will leave the audience feeling like they got the most value for their cost.
The Canadian leg of the tour starts in mid January and goes for about a month. It will be interesting to see how the setlists continue to develop. IF they continue to develop. Will new songs be added? Will they stop playing Grace Too, ABAC & Bobcaygeon every single show? Will they jam more? Will the back end of the new album get more play? Is The Depression Suite dead? Or just hibernating?

Has anyone heard this show or does anyone have a copy? Based on what they played, this show really sticks out to me on this tour and I would love to hear it...
