*tried looking for a search function for the board, assuming someone's already started a thread on this song, but couldn't find one. Kinda new here

This struck me about this song the first time I heard it. The line "smartest guy in the room" reminded me of the line "funniest guy in the room" from Blonde Solid. Anyone else feel this?
Which makes me ask the question..... Have any lyrics for unreleased songs (Blonde Solid, Get Back Again, Crack My Spine...) seeped into later Hip songs?
Welcome!

I thought the same thing when I heard this song for the first time.
And here's a thread about the song: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://hipbase.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16897">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16897</a><!-- l -->

Absolutely! Some made it into Hip songs and some into Gord's solo stuff. If you have ever listened to any Gord rants in the past you will see how they have evolved into their own songs. I reccommend istening to some old live performances and see what you here!

Yes! 'Fly'. When that came out, I knew I had heard it before. Sure enough, it was a rant from the ONIT DVD. I got very excited about this!
I'm sure I would see more connections if I actually read the lyrics rather than singing along with the wrong ones...
D
Can't remember if its also on that DVD, but definitely the next night in London, Gord inserted lyrics from the new maybe and love is a curse into his "rants", as well as fly.
