Are The Hip ever going to release a dvd?
They have enough footage.
Has anybody heard anything?
I bet they do one after the next tour. Either one show from the tour they think really stands out, or songs from different stops on the tour.
Probably, but yelling will not make it come any faster...
Maybe if we all yell at once...in front of the Hip's manager's house...in the middle of the night...with torches and pitchforks...

I think they should have released one from the Evening With shows. What perfect setlists those were! All those old gems!!

ahh hip in 5.1 DTS would be better than almost anything else i can think of

:thumb:
I think they will I hope realease something from those great ARA gigs from 93,when you think about it they did the heksenketal thing right? so they didn't just shut the camera off after those scenes :thumb: and when you really think about it, the Hip must have a mind-blogging catalogue Confusedhock: of juicy delicious outakes as most of us have heard. Just look at that Pearl Jam cd,they've got motherloads of tape! And I think i mentioned this before but look at `the spotlights on Much, that one show from Los Angelas when much is filming them do Grace then fully at that Wilburt theater or something,it was apart of a Bill welechka thing, think it was on the 2000 tour, they have got the footage.I also read/heard somewhere that those 9:30 club gigs were filmed, the ones back in 96. So worry not young Padawans! Your day of exaltation is at hand
I hope that if they do one, it's complete with interviews, backstage stuff etc. I mean, we already have some relatively good live footage available. I always enjoy more intimate stuff with the band.

But anyway, y'know what would really be nice? Official bootlegs of every show, like Gord and the C of M did and Pearl Jam are in the habit of doing.

I think that the hip may start the bootleg thing for the next tour. Let's hope so anyway. And I would love to see a dvd...I think it's about time they put one out. I can only wonder what's stopping them. Confusedcratch:
I agree, Hip in 5.1 DTS would be awesome. Now I just get by on the bootlegs copies made.
I find it very odd that The Hip have not released a live DVD. It has almost become a required release from bands of the day. Big and small bands alike are releasing live DVD's.

Most people would agree that The Hip's live show is when the band is at its best - a live DVD would be the perfect venue for them.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, but the tips are becoming blue.
weve waited too long :nooooo for the dvd. And its frustating with all these shit bands having dvds out when they have been around for what feels like a day or two. After 15 years of music the hip should could release a friggin quadriligly of dvd's for sure. But with dvd's so popular in the mass marketing boy band era, the hip like some older bands have some catching up to do. I suspect when the hip do their next EVENING WITH tour (which would be their last tour for a looonng while) they will film material and spend the $$$. Until then we'll have to rent the 200 britany dvd's!!!

I'm in..tell me when and where :jump
Like all hip fans I would love to have a DVD but I think the hip knows that most of thier fans do bootlegs of thier shows. I think they kinda like it that way. The hip have never been a big flashy band. That's why they aren't huge in the U.S. Which is good because the U.S. music industry would make them crap. I couldn't imagine seeing the hip on a "Gap" commerical or something like that  It's never been about money for the hip, it's been about music and thier fans. That's why I love the hip. :thumb:

This is the only reason I could think of as to why there is no dvd yet.
Maybe their just not into it. Confusedcratch: But I have't to say I love that aspect about the hip. They like to stay out of the public eye as much as possible.
