"Lights of Endangered Species" is going to blow minds. Matt has completely abandoned conventional wisdom and dropped all old habits to make an album that is purposely out of the box. Horns. Strings. Woodwinds. Lots of piano. Not gonna be anything like it.
Did Bob Rock produce?
Mother Mother - Eureka on March 15

Just heard the first single "stand" on a CBC radio 3 podcast yesterday, very cool, very different from what I've heard from them before.

The album will be mastered in England during the first half of 2011. It is expected to be released some time in 2011. and definitely excited about new ron hawkins...as always!
Bruce Cockburn will be releasing a new album called "Small Source of Comfort" on March 1.
New Foo Fighters- Butch Vig producing, Pat Smear back in the band, Krist guest spot, and Dave says it's the heaviest thing they've done. After Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace which was pretty damn boring-I want to see the Foos back where they belong.

Also looking forward to a new Queens of the Stone Age, which should appear this year sometime

THE KILLS )
The Kills are very excited to announce that their 4th album 'Blood Pressures' will be released around the world (excluding the USA) on April 4th, and in the USA on April 5th.

To let you know a little about the new record, we've included the track listing for you... which is a lot like looking at a list of words. Enjoy.

1. Future Starts Slow
2. Satellite
3. Heart Is A Beating Drum
4. Nail In My Coffin
5. Wild Charms
6. DNA
7. Baby Says
8. Last Goodbye
9. Damned If She Do
10. You Don't Own The Road
11. Pots and Pans

We recorded Blood Pressures at Key Club in the state of Michigan, with Bill Skibbe and Jessica Ruffins. Jamie Hince produced the record and Bill Skibbe co-produced. Whilst in Michigan, Alison went through 52 blank cassette tapes in her 4-track recorder. Jamie bought 3 guitars and a mellotron. The studio dogs ate 360 pounds of dog food. We drank all the red wine, watched VHS tapes on Vietnam, got blown down the street by hurricane force winds, watched lightening storms, rode bicycles/ crashed bicycles. We started a game of rummy and never finished it. We tried to bbq and realized we weren't that way inclined. Soup was better. Soup is better. And so it went, the record was completed...but not in Michigan! We finished the last few songs in London with a our Michigan friends and Alison found a dog to borrow to have at the studio to make things more 'normal'. Does this sound confusing? Good. We'll be in touch.

As far as Warne Livesey goes...

He's known for working with and producing most of the albums from Matt Good's career, from Underdogs, Beautiful Midnight, Audio of Being, White Light Rock and Roll, and Avalanche.

He hasn't worked with Livesey for a long time. And certainly not since shit hit the fan for Matt. I'm a member at Matt Good's site and he has mentioned several times about working with Livesey again, that he's a world class producer, that someone with his knowledge and talent is few and far between, the pleasure of working with him and such. Really seems like Matt is in a very comfortable place as far as this project goes.

Got that VIA Email yesterday, great teaser
Nouveau Malajube!

New Matt Good sounds pretty much like old Matt Good.
Announcements coming SOON, thank you for waiting and caring. The record is totally done and mastered and has been for a bit.

From the Fleet Foxes facebook page. I think this might be the most excited I've ever been for a new album, their first album is one of the greatest records ever made.
For me it is probably Elbow, Foo Fighters, REM and possibly the project Imogen Heap is working on...

The wife is already shaking her head at the prospect of my spending yet more cash Wink
