After many years, countless miles, and endless hours (months probably) of music my iPod must be retired. Just in the last two weeks or so the ol' girls batteries aren't holding up like they used to

. Anyways, does anybody know if there's anywhere out there to get a new iPod classic for less than what futureshop/best buy/apple store are charging (279.99 CAD)?

Take a trip to the States.
Apple set the price for their products at all retailers so you'll see very little difference in their prices. Usually apple.ca is the best bet as they usually include shipping and often a perk like engraving.

You can also grab a refurbished one from the Apple website. That usually saves you another 10% or so.

That's the link that Dana posted, does anybody have any experience with these refurbished pieces? Is there anything different or shitty about them so to speak?
I've never bought a refurbished iPod, but I and a few friends have bought refurbished laptops and desktops. Never had any problems with them beyond the usual wear and tear. I have much shittier luck with first-gen Apple stuff than I do with refurbs.
I bought a refurbished iPod touch from the US site about a year ago (when I still lived in the States). Haven't had any problems with it at all. And they have the same warranty as ones purchased new (I think).

I bought my 120g Classic refurbished about 1 1/2 years ago, no problems with it at all. Plus it comes with the standard warranty as well.
Not that I would ever buy one for lack of space and too tiny, but anyone see those new Nanos. Saw the commercial yesterday and thought they were new shuffles.

Save up and get an Ipod Touch. I won a 1st gen in a contest a couple of years ago. Before that, I never thought I would need WiFi and a big screen on an Ipod, now I can't live withought them!

I've already got an HTC phone that does everything the iPod touch does, that coupled with how much it costs to get a 64 gig model just aint worth it. Not that I'll ever realistically need 160 gigs of music at any given time but I know I could fill up the 64 gig model and the extra features are essentially useless to me, what with my phone and all.
