Radiohead Provides Audio for Fan-Made Concert Film; Download Film for Free Online
It's not often than a band likes a pirated concert recording so much, they endorse it, but that's apparently what Radiohead is doing. It began when fans attending an August, 2009 Radiohead concert in Prague recorded it from several locations in the audience, then compiled the footage into a full-length concert film.
Radiohead heard about the effort and enjoyed it so much, they provided the filmmakers with the master audio from the soundboard for use with the film. Best of all, the end result is now posted online for free download at Radiohead-Prague.nataly.fr. Or, you can wait for the Blu-ray version, which reportedly will be released soon.
Radiohead is a genius band. Even if you don't like their music you can't possibly argue against their fan dedication or their novel marketing.
I thought this was a great thing for the band to do and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it. What makes it even better is that I was at that show with my mate so it'll be a nice keep sake to have from my time in Prague

it was a great gig by the way in case anyone was wondering. Plenty of Radiohead fans will say they don't know how to put on anything other than a great show

Thanks ron, this is nothing but great news; "By the Fans, For the Fans" - spot on!
Can't wait for their new release rumoured to be out in the next few months. It's hard not to think of these guys as pure genius when it comes to songwriting, world views, and their overall attitude to the dissemination of music.
BluRay version has been posted for this fan-made release.
well, i've not listened to radiohead much since their "180" after ok computer, but i've been consistently impressed with their forward thinking, outside of the box attitude toward the business of the music industry.
this is the kind of thing that will keep music alive, unlike the record companies' knee-jeck reaction to music sharing however many years ago. file-sharing over the internet is here to stay, and it's nice to see someone actually embracing it and using it to their advantage.
On the topic of Radiohead, this page popped up in my Twitter feed today: http://www.torontomike.com/2010/12/but_ ... o_-_a.html

I lost interest in them as well after OK Computer (still one of the greatest albums ever made). But then they released the magnificent "In Rainbows" in 2007, which forced me to rediscover them again. That album was killer.
Hail to the Thief is a sweet little gem too, it gets lost in the fantastic discography that is Radiohead's but I would put Where I End and You Begin and There There in my top ten RH songs any day.... can not wait for the new disc....

Very cool!
Wow, talk about a sneak attack! That news came out of nowhere. I'd love to get my hands on that big double-vinyl package deal, but sadly I can't afford stuff like that right now. I think I'm just gonna settle for the $9 mp3 download on Saturday morning. Ya gotta love how this band operates.
:music
Ordered my double-vinyl package! Decided to get the mp3 download instead of the wav download, as I figure I'll just rip the cd when it arrives in the package and get the full flacs then.
Dropped a day early!
