I got a sweet job offer in Halifax so I'm uprooting the family and moving there in a couple weeks. I'm leaving Ottawa so I won't get nearly as many Hip shows but will get to see The Country of Miracles mid-Oct.
Any Haligonians out there? Is it really as nice as I hear?? What are some of the must-see's/do's??

Was born in Halifax. Been back a couple of times. Love the city. The whole place is on a hill. Great seafood. I spent last summer in New Brunswick. I could live in the Maritimes. Nice and laid back.
You'll enjoy the city as there is always fun to be had. The city seems to be always moving and upbeat, but I have always lived in the Maritimes so it does the justice for me.
Take a Saturday morning and go down to the market. It runs from probably 6am to 1ish in the afternoon. Filled with street musicians, little shops with crafts and such and booths selling homemade treats to meals. You'll really find a lot to do I find and it is a town filled with a lot of culture.

I almost always have some Nut Brown Ale in my fridge. Also, if you like a good old fashioned swarming, Halifax has that going for it these days. Day trip drives west/southwest of Halifax are a must as well.
