Alright, I know theres a thread dedicated to upcoming 2010 releases. Here's one where we nominate our albums of the year. Its halfway through... and Grand Bounce aside, here are my top 3 thus far in no order.

Ya, that Mojo is real good :thumb:
My favorites so far this year:

Drive-By Truckers- The Big To-Do
Greg MacPherson- Mr. Invitation
The Hold Steady- Heaven is Whenever
Sarah Harmer- Oh Little Fire
The Sadies- Darker Circles
The National- High Violet
Wintersleep- New Inheritors

No release date yet for the new Jim Bryson/Weakerthans album "The Falcon Lake Incident". But I'm pretty sure that one will make the list as well.
In no particular order...
New Inheritors - Wintersleep

That's what I'm coming up with off the top of my noggin. I enjoyed Downie's latest but it's definitely nowhere near the top album of the year.

Sorry to bust your balls, but that album was released in November 2009.

My top ten (couldn't only name three!):
1. Gord Downie – The Grand Bounce
2. Band of Horses – Infinite Arms
3. David Karsten Daniels & Fight the Big Bull – I Mean to Live Here Still
4. The Sadies - Darker Circles
5. Basia Bulat - Heart of My Own
6. The National – High Violet
7. Johnny Bertram & The Golden Bicycles – Days that Passed
8. Sarah Harmer - Oh Little Fire
9. Karkwa - Les chemins de verre
10. Bonnie Prince Billy – The Wonder Show of the World

With Grand Bounce aside, I would add Woodpigeon - Die Stadt Muzikanten
Well, I think my top album of year so far has been . . .

Sea of Cowards is an epic choice as well
My faves so far:

John Grant - Queen of Denmark
The National - High Violet
Shearwater - The Golden Archipelago
Menomena - Mines
Wolf Parade - Expo '86
The Big To-DO- Drive By truckers
Live-Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 live from Montreal
The Hold Steady- Heaven Is Whenever
Broken Bells-Broken Bells
The Black Keys- Brothers

Best album I have discovered this year- Lucero- 1372 Overton Park, came out in October 09 though. This would be at the top if it came out this year.
Bought the new Black Keys album yesterday, based purely on the recommendations here on the forum. Incredible album! I'm only three listens in, and it's already become one of my favorites of the year. I noticed something weird about the actual disc though. When I first opened it up after I purchased it, the label on the CD was grey. This morning I decided to throw on the album while I made breakfast and the label on the disc had turned completely black overnight. You can barely read the song titles now. Anybody else have this happen with their copy? It's bizarre.

I miss those color changing heat sensitive shirts too. Forgot about those.

Wow, do I ever feel dumb. I just pulled the disc out of my stereo and it's turned grey again. Color-changing heat sensitive CDs, eh. How silly.
