I think it sounds pretty cool...the Canadian one on guitar that is. His singing of the American one was pretty bad.
The Star Spangled Banner wasn't great, but it was still better than Gord Downie's Oh Canada at the baseball game a few years back. :what Only certain voices are made for singing anthems and most rock vocalists just don't cut it. The Oh Canada instrumental was alright but nothing too special.
