Thanks a lot!! i had never seen heksenketel, good stuff
wasn't Heksenketel the original proposed name for Up to Here, but the studio didn't like it because it was "too Dutch"?

Is there some order that these go in? I've never seen it and so I'm just playing the clips at random when the hotel internet isn't totally sucking. They're awesome, but I feel I might be missing something by doing it this way.

I "think" I remember an interview where Gord Sinclair said that was going to be the name of the 93 "Another Roadside Attraction" tour...........I could be wrong, but I am pretty certain that was it.

I think Saskadelphia was the original name for Road Apples, but it was considered "too Canadian"
FROM THE BACK OF THE VHS BOX:

"The Tragically Hip's '93 tour, Another Roadside Attraction, was originally called "Heksenketel". or witches' cauldron. Which is apt, since the bands on tour eventually come under some sort of spell. Reality is suspended. Into this cauldron we have added a sea of steaming fans, some vintage Hip performances and a tour bus on its last trip across the country."

I made it so these clips can stand alone. There is no order to them. The Heksenketel tape itself is a clip compilation, there is no order necessary.

I found this VHS in the drawer of a dresser in a pawn shop and the owner didnt know it was there. 3 dollar score! Smile

I forgot to click the "wry-humour" emoticon again. I thought the "too Dutch" would have cinched it.

Man oh man - I gotta say i feel so privileged to have seen so many early years shows - they used to be out of f#&@ing control. Summer nights at Molson's Park, The Concert Hall, The Forum. It didn't get any better than that. Brings back the feeling of being 22 again.
The Concert Hall show in 91 or 92 before Fully Completely came out was totally out of control. I wish there was some footage of Gord singing Fight from back then - he used to mime a fight with himself......
yes, thanks a bunch - I've never seen anything from this movie, so greatly appreciated....
I haven't been on here in AGES it seems, its really great to see that all the Heksenketel uploading I did, paid off. Glad you guys appreciated it.
I was at the 93, 94 and 95 shows, they were exactly as Heksenketel shows it, crazy crowds and that music back then, well EVERYBODY had the feel pulsing thru them and moved to it, not like today where about 99% of the people just want to stand and watch, I guess its probably because were all older but I still like that squished swaying feeling of controlled chaos.
What my point here is this.....
Ya know they put this out and its basically an hour long and they filmed probably most of this tour.
Ya just know some fucker is sittin on top of a goldmine of probably 50 hours of tape of those tours that all of us would kill for to just watch.

I want a Heksenketel UPDATED release on DVD with 2 additional dvds with at least 4 more hours. How could you not want that? That stuff is fuckin awsome.
Well I just got sidetracked from work, thanks for this epicness, I have been trying to track a cheap local copy of this down for a while!
