Just heard there is a band in South Buffalo called the Tragically Sith. That plays the hips music but replaces the lyrics with lyrics about Star Wars.

They have videos up on youtube.

i`ve made the mistake of following links to hip cover band videos in the past. ron, with the description you provided in your post, i`ll thank you for saving me some of my time
No problem, I heard Alan Cross talk about it on the radio the other day. His ongoing history show is coming to the states in two cities so far Buffalo and a city in Indiana. It will be on Sunday nights.
My god.

These are my people. We are the same.
Oh my god. That is the best and worst thing I have ever seen.
that's at the same time beautiful and devastating - it's like a musical atom bomb!
Sacrilege of altering Hip songs aside, I actually really enjoyed that. It's good to see someone putting their own take on something and combining two things they really love! It's certainly a refreshing change from just a straight up covers band anyway. I am a bit of a Star Wars geek as well which is probably helping their cause. :thumb:

Interesting cover versions they have done, hmmm! 8)
Are they playing at a convention er, just in front of a bunch of fans. At the end of (cough) family band two people run in with storm trooper helmets.

And when the words good, hilarious and horrible come together, they make 'interesting'. That is what that was..
I love the fact that the Bass player's mike stand is some fat dude standing beside him - It is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
epic... the hundredth will never be the same... i will always be thing about lando calrissian
They're playing at Molly McGuire's which is a small bar in South Buffalo (my town). I believe I went to school with someone in the band.
This isn't one of them by any chance is it?

that was hilarious!
The sad part is that the Tragically Sith may reach mainstream success in America before the Hip...
