It looked for a while that DFN was going to pull this out, but what ended up giving Phantom Power the win was it's overall love by the whole base, whike DFN had the occasional low vote here and there. I guess it's like a baseball team with 4 great starters instead of 3, or a hockey team that can roll 4 lines instead of 2. Phantom Power just had more depth amongst the basers.
I was impressed that the people on the base were pretty much able to agree on Up To Here for what it is, rather than place it high because it was the first big release. That said, I am surprised it didn't get ANY number one votes.
Glad to see M@W place pretty high. I love that album, and if it wasn't for maybe 3 songs, I bet it would rank top 3.
I was impressed to see the consistency amongst the top and bottom two albums. 23 first place votes between DFN and PP, 21 last place votes between WC and IBE. That shows a pretty strong agreement amongst the biggest Hip Fans around, and from what many people said, a lot of the middle albums were a crap shoot anyway.
I guess this means the next time the Hip do double set shows they should play both of these albums in full with a few others as an opener or encore :thumb: :thumb:
Can't say I'm surprised that World Container came in last, as everybody on this forum seems to have a massive hate-on for Bob Rock. I'm not a big fan of the guy either, but I think WC is a pretty damn good record and deserves to be a little higher in the rankings. But obviously that's just me.

I agree with the much-deserved love for M@W, but am a little dumbfounded by the drastic lack of love for WC and IBE. Me thinks they maybe need some time to age, like a fine wine. Time seems to have been good to PP and M@W, that's for sure.

I don't think anyone really
dislikes IBE or WC, they have as you say aged nicely. But they sure as hell don't compare to the rest of the band's catalog.
I didn't buy music@work till about 3 years ago. I gave in when I saw it for 7.99 at future shop. Figured as a hip fan I should have it. Picked it up, loved the first half and hated the second half. That's what I figured and why I didn't buy it for so long. As with any other album they've put out, it quickly grew on me. I appreciate it much more now.
As for the bottom 2, they ARE good albums. Just weaker than the rest I think.

Sad to see IBE so low on the chart, it's one of their finest albums. I love the raw energy on it and it kills the last two albums!

I agree with the rankings for the most part, IBE is a little low though.

I thought about trying to find the person that had the closest list to what the final rankings ended up being. Then I figured I did enough work!

I wonder how many people sharet his sentiment: The margin between like #3-9 on this list is wafer thin. The only real gap would be between #2 and then all the way down to #9.
