I've been spreading a lot of Hip love on a Manic Street Preachers forum which I post on a lot recently: - It looks like I've even recruited some new fans. Also, someone posted this after I posted the photo of me and Gord:

Quote:Oh my god! He is gorgeous Big Grin My new celebrity crush! Big Grin

Cool

Has anyone else managed to get some Hip love going on other forums etc?
I went out of my way to mention the Hip on the old Pearl Jam Message Pit as many times as I could. I started a tribute thread for them, which I'm proud to say ended up being the longest thread devoted to a band that wasn't Pearl Jam. I think it eventually got up to just over 100 pages. Too bad they closed that forum down and opened up that crappy new one at pearljam.com.

Actually when I joined facebook and realized you could start a group I started Hipfans. My husband started a group about Nascar. We were doing it just for fun to see who could get the most people to join. His is at 34 members and well mine is at 202 as of this morning! I try to spread the love where ever I go!!!
I've tried bringing the Hip on a couple Dave Matthews Band forums before, but given up. Everyone was either Canadian and already loved them, or American and didn't care.
I've been recruiting new fans since I found The Hip... granted that wasn't that long ago, so I have some serious making up to do. People seem to be diggin it here in merry old england.

That's too bad. The Americans on the Pearl Jam board seemed to really dig them once they got past Gord's voice. You don't realize it after you've been a fan for so long, but Gord's voice really is an acquired taste for non-fans.
Regarding my two favorite bands:

I've always felt Gord was a poet first and a singer second. Eddie's voice is practically a gift from God. (How about Unthough Known off of Backspacer?) He just often happens to write great lyrics.

I've converted 4 huge PJ fans into TTH fans. As fans of music, they consider themselves lucky for that. (Well 3 of them do...)
