Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere, I did a search and did not see anything.
I went into a Goodlife Fitness in Toronto today to restart my gym membership, and when I signed up the woman asked me if I wanted tickets to see The Hip. I didn't think they were playing in the Toronto area anytime soon, so I asked her where they were playing... Turns out they are doing a show for Goodlife Fitness employees and members at the ACC on Nov. 5th. They took my address and said they will be sending me two tickets in the mail! It definitely softened the blow from the monthly cost of getting my fat ass back into shape.
If you are a member I recommend bugging the staff the next time you go in. If you are thinking of joining, now might be a good time. I would have to think they'll have lots of tickets to give away to fill up the place!
Anyone else hear any details?
HOLY SHIT! I'll have to look into this, I wonder what the cheapest membership that I could get is, I've got a 'free' gym on campus.

I saw a private show at the Phoenix Thursday December 9 1993 - The Friends of Brian Eagle - Pursuit of Happiness played also.
I believe this show has the distinction of being the only show where they played Emergency - I know it - I was there - I've tried to get the info on thehip.com many times to no avail.
Of all places they choose to play a show... Toronto? Really? :roll:

I think it's a countdown to the show, contest closed on the 15th and the draw was on the 18th. Does anyone know how much a membership costs, or if there's a minimum membership that must be purchased in order to get this deal, there's no info for prices on their website.

I scored some tickets for the show (2nd row floors) so I'm hoping it's going to be a good show. I'm wondering if The Hip is going to play a full show or do their outdoor type of show where they play 4 or 5 less songs...
I'm still waiting to hear Emperor Penguin live. One of my only remaining favs I haven't heard live.. Looking forward to Thursday night!
