Last week me and my girlfriend eloped to Las Vegas.
Me and my (now) wife have known each other off and on since the second grade. Last Sunday we drove down from Calgary, stopped for the night in southern Utah, and then made it into Vegas the next afternoon. The next night we went to Freemont Street to buy our license while my girlfriend was holding a glass of booze she stole from a casino, and I was drink0nig rye out of a football. The next day we went to Chapel of the Bells for the ceremony while we were both horribly sick from a stack of bad pancakes we had for breakfast.
The next day we went to Arizona to see an old mutual friend from Jr High. After a few days of that we went to LA for Disneyland, since my wife had never gone. We got "Just Married" badges, I wore a top hat with Mickey ears, and she wore a veil with Minnie ears. We got treated like royalty all day, and we even got our own private boat for "It's a Small World". You don't know romance until you've made out to a hundred thousand shrieking dolls.
We drove back up through wine country and the giant redwoods. Now we're back home and trying to figure out how to tell our folks. We picked up a couple bottles of wine near Napa, so we're thinking of getting them drunk first.
