I was trying to figure out this word in The Exact Feeling. I grabbed the booklet and gave it a look... It says;

"Maybe I got no more innarest"

I thought he was singing interest, but I guess its Innarest.

I checked it in my Widget dictionary... its not there, I checked an online dictionary, its not there either.
Is Gord making up words? What does innarest mean?
Gord says in the long QTV interview that is on youtube that it was a reference to Neil Young. He always liked the way Young said interest "inarest" so he fit it into the song.
Ohhh cool. Thank you for the info. :thumb:
Didn't realize he had already done this lyrical trick on The Exact Feeling. Couldn't believe there was already a topic with this title.

Interest = innarest = inner rest?

I love Gord Downie, and cannot wait for the lyrical refractions and flipped meanings that I'm sure will abound on MMP.
