I hearby proclaim that my wife is the official QUEEN of hip fan wives. Last night as I rested after work my wife arrived at home and told me she wanted to get dinner out. I of course hopped to and prepared for dinner. When we arrived at dinner she then handed me a card for my birthday (next month) and smiled as I opened and two center pit row 1 tickets to last nights Artpark show fell out. We arrived and stood front row ready for a ton of fun. The boys came out and played what I believe to be the best show I've seen them play (and I've seen a number of them front row). Gord ate bugs from my head which was as always entertaining. As I left the show with my head ringing and dreading a day of work tired the next day but still on a high from the show, she told me I should probably play hookie on Friday. I looked confused at her and she handed me an envelope with center pit row 1 tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday's shows along with a hotel reservation in Niagara Falls. All of this and I expected a tie and a twelve pack for my birthday. Long live the queen!

That is a cool story...but you should prepare for an eon of yard work and housework in the name of your queen!
How in the world of F does ANYONE get Pit seating? I'm online with my password for presale tickets the second they go on sale and end up with Row T!!! Then a month later, I hear there's more tickets for sale and I get Row D?!?! WTF?
Can anyone give me some advise on getting into the pit or at least really close?
Take out a bank loan and go on ebay.
BTW you are one lucky dude! My wife did a similar thing a couple of years ago but my story ends at the Niagara Falls hotel part.
Great story Pudge7681.

I get rather close quite often. Just by doing the same thing you sound like you are doing. One trick my buddy does is he tries Ticketmaster.ca for US shows and .com for Canadian shows, which I have tried with success but I got almost royaly screwed one time that way.
Artpark is a little different story though. When the tickets for this tour went on sale TheHip.com crashed hard and no one could figure out the password for awhile. Then when the password was known not many people knew the link to Artpark for tickets. That is how I got Pit for 3 outta 4 shows.
Just do your homework (links, passwords, etc...) the day before and be ready at the announced time and even do a run through the day before by "fake" buying tickets to another show so you are totally familiar with the process of that particular site.
(great, now that I told you guys all this, there go my great seats in the future)
Some times it pays to call the ticket office and talk to someone. My wife told me that the way she got them was by calling Artpark the day they went on sale so that she didn't have to continually switch windows online between each show and thus lose time. I should add that sometimes it might pay to know people who know people who know people and such...not saying that was how it happened...I mean it's not like we didn't pay for the seats cause she did pay but I have a feeling there was someone who knew someone who knew someone. Hope that this story doesn't totally piss people off that they didn't get their seats. Let it be said that no eBay scum profitted from this birthday gift.
My wife is already the Quenn! She got me two tickets for the Philly show. :jump
Then my wife will claim Queen of Western NY while yours can be Queen of PA...I hope your tickets bring/brought happiness and fun...I look forward to 3 more nights of this gift. And of course mowing the lawn and making dinner and folding laundry and cleaning the bathroom and...well you get the picture.
Sounds like we all have great wives! My wife is SO excited for these shows - I'll have to buy her some merch (I'll tell her not to throw any hockey pucks on stage!).
Or balloons...I hate balloons at a concert almost as much as Gord does.
That's so freaking cool. Your wife rules, man.

Hmmmmmmmm that's gonna be a close one. My husband isn't even in to The Hip and he got us great seats for the Seattle show on my birthday in a couple of weeks AND didn't complain that he has to miss one of our MLS soccer games as a season ticket holder on the same night. AND didn't complain that I am going to the Portland show the night before and staying down there with my girlfriends to go shopping the next day.
He DID kind of grimace though, I saw that from the corner of my eye then swatted him. But, still a close call
