HA! That's funny! I didn't know other people used "working titles" for their kids. We used Clyde for both of ours.
We did it mainly because everyone wants to offer an opinion on names - so when asked if we have one, we say, "Yes. Thumper."
That usually ends the conversation on names.

Yeah, same here. I would try to reply with some crazy name like Slim or Sunshine or Clyde. That normally shut people up.

Good job I have holidays accrued, now I just need 'Get out of the house by myself' points to accrue
I am actually going to start babbling here like a schoolgirl, so I'll stop now

By the little info I can get online this looks to be a tiny little venue!
Oh, and here's a ticket link: http://www.getmein.com/rock-and-pop/the ... ckets.html interesting to read the band members list

What's wrong with it? It's a list of the
Major members...

I think he means that it only lists Gord S., Bobby, Johnny and Paul as the members on the front page of that link. Once you click the biography link it lists all the members of the band. Slightly weird screwup, leaving off the lead singer in the band.
ah, good point Chris.
I wonder, will there be more UK dates? This could be a much cheaper way of seeing a few Hip shows in a row.
Also, from the University of Manchester Student Union website:
Quote:Academy 3 is the smallest of the Union's venues: a bar and a live music venue, it is located on the top floor of the Steve Biko Building. Academy 3 hosts gigs from smaller, or up-and-coming bands. It's the perfect place to catch new talent on the way up.
It appears to have a capacity of around 500

I know.
I guess I need to talk to tthip about conveying humour on the internet better.
Where's that "deadpan" emoticon when you need it.
Can someone conjure up a smiley face guy in a frying pan with an axe through his head?

Just "X" out his eyes and we have a winner!
I found this bit on the site intriguting...
"Buy and sell The Tragically Hip tickets London, The Tragically Hip tickets Manchester, The Tragically Hip tickets Glasgow, The Tragically Hip tickets Paris, The Tragically Hip tickets Milan, The Tragically Hip tickets Amsterdam and other The Tragically Hip concert tickets for all 2009 tour dates."

It appears they might be touring with Flock of Seagulls:

"Buy and sell A Flock of Seagulls tickets London, A Flock of Seagulls tickets Manchester, A Flock of Seagulls tickets Glasgow, A Flock of Seagulls tickets Paris, A Flock of Seagulls tickets Milan, A Flock of Seagulls tickets Amsterdam and other A Flock of Seagulls concert tickets for all 2009 tour dates."
Or maybe that's just boilerplate language that appears at the bottom of every artist's page. Nah, I prefer the Flock of Hip Euro Flight 2009 vision better.
