Anyone catch King of the Hill? The whole premise was based upon a rude and ignorant Canadian neighbor. It was quite difficult to watch them portray Canadians that way. I am from the suburbs of Buffalo and hung out with many Canadians - not once have I met someone like this. The show was such drivel - all to portray Hank Hill as the bigger, nicer neighbor and getting the Canadian neighbor out of a jam - even though he was a jerk. Nonsense I tell ya....

I didn't see that episode but I'm sure it was funny. King of the Hill is hilarious.

After Boomhauer trades houses with a Canadian family for the summer the Arlen gang tries to make some new neighbors feel welcome. However it soon becomes apparent that Canadians and Arlenites do not see eye to eye.
I thought it was pretty effective satire, actually. I felt like it was poking fun at the Hills' condescension, perceived moral superiority, and ignorance of the outside world as much as it was ripping on the sanctimonious Canadians. It was also probably the closest parody of Canadian culture on mainstream American TV that I've seen...some of the references and lines were just so spot on.
Damn, I can't believe i missed this, I love King Of The Hill, or anything Mike Judge related for that matter.
King of the HIll was hilarious last night. But a few times I had to cringe...
This valley (Phoenix Metro, Mesa etc.) is completely dominated by Canadians in the winter, never saw any of them drive a Mccullough, a golf cart; yeah. :lol:
A show written by americans for americans in the all american state of Texas!!! All they did was switch the roles around. I guess they we're tired of being portrayed that way so they turned it on us!!

Interesting because in my experience, I find Canadians to be wayyyyy friendlier. Not that I am trying to start a war or anything of course
America has been more than kind to me, don't get me wrong! Weird KOTH did that because don't American shows usually make fun of our northern neighbours as being rather dim witted and talking funny rather than aggressive??!! I have only been here 5 years so I could be wrong but that is all I have seen anyway.
Reminds me of the time my card wouldn't work once at a cash machine at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver because it hadn't been unlocked for international use. The dude behind me handed me a $20 bill and told me to enjoy myself. Seriously, who does that?
