So im on <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.thehip.com">www.thehip.com</a><!-- w --> and updating my profile to add my " shows ive been to" section. I could only remember 12 shows.
I know im at 15 but I racked my brain and cant remember the missing 3 shows.
Im worried I smoked to much weed at the shows and totally have memory loss of those 3 shows.
Anybody else have this problem?
Have you gone to shows. Ya know ya went cause you just know you went for that tour but cant remember what city you went to or if it was spring or summer. Indoor or outdoor.
I wonder if I just drank at the shows and didnt smoke up if I would have a better memory of it.

Having only ever been to Hip gigs with a couple of pints in my system, I feel unqualified to comment on this.
A combination of 2 & 3.....
I have a specific system, One large Joint before hand(outside venue) to keep the excitement bottled up, two pints upon arrival to the show, two during the first hour followed by another large J and finally one pint near the end to wet the mouth.
With all that said the show must be in an outdoor setting otherwise smoking is banded & I must stick to beer.
However you choose to enjoy the show is up to you this is my way for large outdoor shows.
For a great experience it's less about my condition and more about those around me.
I can have a great time totally sober I just wish others could aswell. After close to 20 shows, the Hip have never disappointed me but there have been a few occasions when drunk or high idiots have ruined my experience.
I've only ever been totally sober at Hip shows too. God I sound boring. I guess I just wanted to make sure I remembered it all.
June 16 will be different. Going to an out of town show and staying overnight with my friends and having the next day off work.

I've been in shows sober and i've been to them under the influence... I don't remember the sober shows any better than I remember the others to be honest, so it doesn't really make a difference to me how I go to them. Like Marcus said, the only thing that has made me have a "not-so-good" time are the people around me at the shows (which you can control at an outdoor event most of the time but when you have assigned seating, you pretty much have to live with it.)

Earlier days - seem to remember more beer fuelled fist fights than performance.

I've never been drunk at a show. I do have a bad memory, though, so I don't really remember too much from the shows I've been to. :lol: I just remember how good a time I had, basically, and can recall some shows that seemed better than others. I do remember every show I've been to, though, if not every song from the shows. It's not even about getting drunk or not with me. I just don't want to be making trips to the bathroom all night and missing parts of the show.

The same thing happened to me last week. I went to add my concerts and could only come up with about 18 or 19. I know that I've been to over 20, probably about 22, but I'll be damned if I can figure out where or when. I even went back through my old posts on this forum to look for clues. I found once where I stated that I'd just witnessed my 20th show according to the list that you used to be able to keep here, so I'm sure that it was accurate. I've been meaning to dig out my old ticket stubs to get to the bottom of this. Now I just have to try and remember where they are!

HAHA I am with ya now............... Next year I will be posting the same thing on here saying hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm sure I've been to 7 but I can only remember 6........... :mrgreen:
i still think the bathhouse broadcast should count as a show on the hip site...

It was at the Danforth concert. At first it was just my wife. She really has a problem with smell of pot and she found it a bit overwhelming when the guys in front started lighting up.
It only became a problem for me when the guys after smoking up became extemely talkative. They keep leaning into each other every 30 seconds and blocking my view. I spent much of the concert moving my head around just to see the stage. I felt like telling them to just shut up and listen to the music.
I know this isn't necessarily just a trait of pot smoking but in this cause it seemed to be related. I really don't have a problem with anyone who drinks or smokes at a concert. Just try not to let your activities effect those around you from enjoying the experience.
