Reminds me of an interview the Hip did with "The New Music" (old Muchmusic show) at the beginning of the Canadian leg of the DFN tour in '95. Host Jana Lynne White asked Gord & Paul which description they prefered: "The Tragically Hip's music is brilliant"...or "their music is twisted", to which Gord replied: "either one leads to insanity."
That's a pretty funny argument. Not one single person makes a good point.
I think the take home message there is "There are no stupid questions, just stupid people" (Mr.G)

They should put this on a shirt. On my Rheostatics Box set I put together Dave mentions Tim Perlich's Now Magazine review of Whale Music where he said "It looks like art if you squint" which they then put on the back of one of their shirts.

Amongst all the crazy comments made in that 'discussion', the one that bothered me most is the crack about American beer. Watery beer has a place in life. Whether it's Bud or Blue, Molson or Coors. Sometimes you need a lighter beer to gulp down. Do I want a hoppy beer at the beach? A heavy wheat beer at a ball game? No and no. Give me something light and slurpable. And if you have problems with American beer, then I'm guessing you've never had a Brooklyn Lager Pennant Ale, a Fat Tire, or hell even a Sam Adams Boston Lager. But I digress; back to the topic at hand...

It was a huge project which I put together after their final show 2 years ago - it is a chronological history of the band from 1980 to 2007 and includes demos, interviews, live songs, stage banter and studio cuts. It is one take on their history again but overall it has interesting or unique selections. It is broken up into albums/eras so that it is a bit less daunting than one giant project. There are also some notes on the site about each volume to give it some context.

I never had Fat Tire until I moved to Wyoming. It's now one of my favorites.
I miss Yuengling, though, being out west.
