After 120 + shows my wife and I have established a bit of a tradion in picking the opener for each show. The World Container tour typically featured Lonely End of the Rink and Yer not the Ocean as set openers. IVL was mostly Silver Jet and Are You Ready etc... So in the spirit of stacking the odds in my favour I thought I would post the question to the Base. Any forecasts on openers for the WATS tour?
Here's a few early guesses:

Nitpick, actually IVL was Silver Jet and Use It Up. I think only 1 or 2 shows at the beginning had Are You Ready.
Depression Suite opened the Bathouse thingy, so that's a good possibility. I would think Love Is A First also has a good chance, and maybe Speed River?
Sorry, my bad ... didn't realize this topic was already being discussed.

120+ shows - nice.
Where are you hitting this tour?
Less because of the ticket prices or about the same?
We're going to the Kitchener shows, Metropolis in la belle province, 3 nights at Massey Hall and the two Hamilton shows. Also thinking about Wiarton with Sammy R and the Arkells. Was hoping for the Music Hall this Friday but was denied by the TM fiasco. Still, extremely happy to see the boys deliver the new songs in the theatre venues. :music

Jesus Christ man, are you Donald Trump lol. My family's been making fun/criticizing me for going to two Massey shows and then the music hall on top of that.
i think love is a first probably makes for the best opener on the album. i could also see frozen in my tracks being a pretty solid opener as well. that sorta creeping guitar rif at the begning working into this wall of noise. the song isnt my favorite on the album but im sure itll be done some justice live :thumb:
I'm kinda leaning towards Honey, Please. Dunnuh why but it seems to me like a good candidate. Those of you lucky enough to be in Greektown on Friday let us know.

I will try my best to post a live setlist from my iPhone. A suggestion, we should try and get 1 volunteer per show to do this. I've seen it done on a lot of other band message boards, it makes it interesting for those who are not going to a show.

MAv actually brought this up last tour - I am not sure if anything will come if it on his end.

The way I've seen it done before is for each show you create a thread ie. (Toronto - The Music Hall - April 24th Live Setlist). The volunteer then posts the setlist as it goes every few songs or so. That way the person can just do it during a song they are not over-crazy about or don't mind turning their attention away from the stage for 30 seconds or so. Other posters often add their 2 cents as to what they think of the song selection, and what they think might come next or something. It can be quite interesting.

I'd love to make this a reality. I've done it a few times where attendees text me the setlist and I update as it happens - here and hipfans.com.
Let's start a listing of who's at what show and can do it.
Music Hall (I will definitely do this one, assuming I have no problems getting a signal with my iPhone in there)
Massey 1
Massey 2
Massey 3
Massey 4
Massey 5
Massey 6
I will do my share of the Massey ones... but would prefer not to have to do all 6!
Cool idea.
I saw it done on the PJ message board and it was great.
I'll never forget Chris's post from last tour when he received a text from one of our buddies saying: "you're never going to believe this...but Fiddler's." That one word still sends shivers down my spine. It was just as cool reading it on the board even though I couldn't be at the show.
I hope we can get this to work.
