They are hard copies.

mojo_mattv Wrote:Wait a minute, MAv can you clear something up for me here. If I bought 4 tickets to the same show (same order as well) with the cd package I'm not going to be getting 4 cd packages am I? :?

The way I read my order was 1 CD per order.

I bought two tickets but only got charged for 1 CD add-on.

What chaps my hide is that I selected Canada Post for free delivery but I got charged $4.35 (or something similar) for Mail (includes processing fee)!!!

What the f**k is that about?
I noticed that too Chris and I picked "retail pick up" for my ticket delivery. There did used to be a separate "order processing fee" no matter what delivery method you chose, so it seems they've now integrated it with the delivery charge (I'm assuming if we had picked Fed-ex it would have been more than $4.35). Of course this is in addition to the $11.25 convenience charge and $2.63 building facility charge...god I hate ticketmaster.

uh ya, took me 2 guesses, moon, and same.

I was totally prepared,

don't know why, if getting tickets is so important to people, so much so they get feverishly angry at a little glitch, that they didn't have a back up plan. Thehip.com was down for a good 1/2 hour before the presale started. Lots of time to plan ahead.

The password was posted at hipbase in two separate threads minutes after the on sale.

And while I'm at it, the links were available on the web hours before the pre-sale, plenty of time to bookmark.
chris Wrote:But you also got good tickets to 4 shows... silver lining?

I got 2 seats for each of the 2 Detroit shows.

But you are right in that I got charged for only 1 CD (not 2 CDs) with each two-ticket purchase (2 purchases / 2 CDs total), so I stand corrected. What made me think I was getting 4 total copies of WATS was the $29.50 "ticket fee" that was tacked onto each order (what the heck *is* that anyway? That essentially equates to a 20% surcharge for each order -- which is beyond exhorbitant). But exhorbitant "ticket fees" have absolutely no bearing on fan site passwords and ticket presales.

As I had said in the last paragraph of my post just before yours, I acknowlege that the any extra CD costs were a "trade off" of sorts for the prime seats, so I was okay with it. But now that I understand I'm getting 2 copies of WATS instead of 4, I'm really only out a few dollars since I would have bought at least one copy anyway -- and now Jenna can have her own copy!

So MAv, take note -- I have no issues whatsoever. My apologies!

Well aren't you just the Eagle Scout!

For the record, I've personally seen an assload of Hip shows and have had plenty of opportunities to see them "up close", so I wasn't particularly "angry" about anything (I was just trying to wriggle around paying for unwanted CDs). But many fans haven't had the same opportunities I've had, and were taking the steps they were directed to take to try for the best seats this time around. So it's not quite fair to simply disregard their frustrations because they don't happen to be as good (or as lucky) at guessing passwords as others might be. And you also have to be well aware that after the ticket purchase links open up, every second that ticks by equates to a good seat gone. And as those seconds tick by, scouring multiple Hipbase threads for a password tip pretty much ensures that you won't be getting the best seats.

BUT -- that's just the way it goes sometimes. I understand their frustration, but I also know that the band (and its employees) try damn hard to accommodate all of us.

YEa!
This is what Jane's Addiction is doing for their presale as a way to beat the scalpers:

Pre-sale tickets are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Tickets are non-transferable and are personalized with the buyer's legal name printed on the face of the ticket. ID will be required to pick up tickets and enter the venue on the night of the event, so please make sure you are signed up with your full legal name. Limit two (2) tickets per person. Purchase your tickets as soon as possible because quantities are limited.
