My passport expires end of this week and there's no way my renewal will arrive before June 4th
As of June 1 you need a passport or Enhanced Drivers license. You can get your passport in 10 business days, or pay the premium to get it faster (but you need proof that you need it).

I'm going this week to get a new passport for the shows. I had one but lost it when I was in Boston last week to see Das Hips...
Chris, you are stealing my position as the go-to answer guy for border questions!
You might be able to get by with your expired passport, depends on the US Officer

Just be careful. When the officer asks you to take off your hat do not say:
"My hat? I'm not taking off my hat. Do you want me to take off my pants too?"
That is what Lucky13 did last week when we were on our way up for the Danforth show.
Anyone want to take a guess if we got pulled over?
Good call. Razz the American border guards. They're so easy going and tolerant after all...

  Lemme guess, the Canadian customs officer decided to play Strip Search the Funny American Guy...
I've never had the pleasure to meet any of you seasoned Hipbasers. Do you guys tailgate and hang out before the shows?
If so, how do you meet up? I'll be there for two of the four - Thursday & Friday.

Three years ago there were issues at Artpark with the crowd afterwards. Neighbors got pissed about everyone peeing on the lawns and whatnot.
So for the 2 night stand 2 years ago there was no tailgating allowed at all.
They specifically mentioned the Hip show.
Even though I have heard no such talk yet this time, I would not get my hopes up for tailgating in the very closed minded community of Lewiston.
But there are a couple of bars and restaurants close by.

I'm not very fond of closed-minded people - I'd love to see a show out in British Columbia (most Canadian cities actually) for obvious reasons...
Bars & restaurants? I'm totally game - my wife on the other hand? I'll work on her!!! She's one of those "I'm shy" people.

Phew! I put in the request this morning for a new passport, and having paid the hurry-up fee I'll have it by June 3!
Woo Hoo! I'll see y'all there on Saturday evening.

As long as your passport arrives in time - where are you sitting on Saturday?
On a side note, we just went this morning to get our newest one his passport - and without paying the almost $100 expedited fee it will take about 6 weeks. $60 plus $15 shipping there and $15 shipping back.

It is guaranteed to be ready at 8am on June 3 as I paid the $10 "sorta rush" fee. If I had travel booked in the next few days I could pay more for the 48 hour service.
I'm in Row Z, dead centre'ish.
