A small Dash-8 prop plane, carrying 49 passengers as Continental Flight 3407, crashed six miles short of the Buffalo airport last night. The plane was en route from Newark, NJ. All 49 people on board and one person on the ground were killed.

The story says 49 died. They just updated that to 50 on the news this morning. This has kind of freaked me out - I'm flying into Buffalo today. Keep those families in your thoughts and prayers.

Scary stuff.
My Dad is in Florida right now - coming back next Wednesday.
I hate to hear about things like this, even more so when you have a family member traveling.

My son just got a job w/Delta in Atlanta and wants to fly back n forth home to Buffalo monthly. Wasn't thrilled with the back n forth thing to start with so this doesn't help. Not that this happens a lot but...
