Sounds like all the Hipbasers had a great time at the Gord show. (I'd love to go to a show with you guys, but would I slow you down being 20 years older? Not! LOL!). I'm glad you all met up and had a good experience together. I know we will get together in the future for a Hip show some year. Sooner than later.

You will only meet Gord if you come very early or stay very late. Gord likes to meet his dedicated fans. He must have partied down with his band mates because of the end of his tour. He was fairly straight all the three times I've met him.

Go Gord! Go Hip! Go Hipbase!

It was mentioned that Gord spoke of the song Josephine and she was a fictional character. Did Lance, et al mention to Gord that you were the creator/members of the Hipbase? If so, what was his reaction? When we met Gord we kept our conversation to his solo music and tour. I wanted to talk a little about the Hip but didn't think it was the right time.

Lance, that is an awesome picture of both of you! You are vey lucky :wink: :thumb:

Gord was fairly "baked" so any kind of sensible conversation might have been out of the question. It was still amazing to meet him and shake his hand and thank him for playing for us.

I'm really glad to hear everybody enjoyed themselves in Halifax, I want to thank Lance for hooking me up with the tickets sorry we didn't get to meet up.

Anyway got to the marquee at about 5:30, heard gords soundcheck. then we waited around for a while gord and julie came out on the balcony out back for some air but went right back in. which sucked i thought well thats it, But we were sitting in the car having a smoke when gord comes walking down to his van, so i jump out (had on a classic neil young shirt) first thing gord says as i walk up is "love the shirt". talked a little about the new greendale cd by Young, gord said he was all over it. so he signed my cd then i asked for a pic so the woman he was with said she would take it while she's waiting for the flash gord says" if were going to wait around much longer we should just get engaged" picture taken , i thanked him for his time and he told me to stay calm.

It took me 11 years to finally meet him and it lived up to everything i thought it would.
Does anybody have a copy of the show on cd yet, if so id love to trade or whatever let me know.

Im sure anyone who was there Friday night is checking the BoTN webpage waiting for the mp3's of the show to put up for purchase. I can't wait.

I was in such a sleepy state this morning I forgot to take my pictures into work to scan! d'oh! Tommorow I should have some. I think there's about 5 or 6 that really show the mood of the show and character that is Gord.
