The Boss for his Born in the USA tour, one of the nights at the CNE. I was hanging outside listening with my older sister and one of her boyfriends, he bought me a shirt and the vendor asked me if I wanted her pass to go in. I was able to get pretty close on the side and watched a hell of a show.

Hell yes.
I've always said Das Hip, Jan 1/00, with the sidebar that the first artist I ever saw play for a crowd was Sarah Harmer. However, while at the CNE last week, it occurred to me that we saw Bowser and Sha-Na-Na and Gary US Bonds at the bandshell in the early 90s.
But in thinking about it, I'm still going with the Hip... Because of Sarah, because of the number of shows I've seen since then, and any number of local punk shows at the Elmo I want to forget from high school.
Cheers,
Pat

Plus Doug and the Slugs and the Four Tops/Temptations at the old Ontario Place Forum in the late 80's.
I'm sticking with U2 as my first "real" concert though.

The Alarm and Level 42 at the University Of Buffalo Spring Fest 1985
When I was a kid The Alarm were my favorite band. A couple of years ago Mike Peters and the new Alarm line up played a show at The Continental Club in Buffalo, New York. After the show I got a chance to talk to Mike and thanked him for the positive influence he had on my life when I was a kid. He got all teary eyed and asked me if he could give me a hug. So there I was standing in the middle of Buffalo's legendary punk rock club The Continental, hugging my childhood idol, while a crowed of people stood and stared.

Elton John - The Greek Theatre - Hollywood
September 19th, 1994.
My Tenth B-day! My family went to Disneyland, and We heard he was playing. My mom, being the biggest Elton Fan I've ever met, decided we should spend an un-healthy amount of money to see him. So we did.
No opening act, outdoor arena, candle in the wind and bats flying over head. Pretty awesome birthday.

I bet that was pretty sweet....
Yeah that would have been incredible. Was that the Trevor Rabin lineup? or was it more of the original lineup?
My first show was Great Big Sea in Brantford, Ontario at the Sanderson Center. I think it was about 8 or 9 years ago. My first big concert was the Hip on Canada Day 04 at the Amphitheater in Toronto.
