It's on tonight one Muchmoremusic in Canada. 9-11 and 11-1 EST. Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Flaming Lips, Tenacious D, Incubus and some band named The Who (?). Check it out, it's really good so far, I can't wait to hear The Flaming Lips do their take on Who songs.
That was a great show!

Man Taylor Hawkins is one hell of a drummer

I concur in regards to Hawkins being a great drummer.
The Who were the worst part of the show

I wasn't all that impressed with them, either, to be honest. :rambo:

Took the words from my mouth! Pearl Jam and surprisingly Tenacious D were my favourites.

Hearing the jam do "Love Reign O'Er Me" brought chills down my spine, and fond memories of them doing it at MSG I this year. Goddamn. The best band on the planet.

I also enjoyed Daltrey forgetting that Incubus played that night. Becos I think everyone else did as well.
glad i wasn't the only one that thought that. I was thinking i'd be crucified on here for saying that. Even Sandler was better than them. Pearl Jam clearly were the best, although The Foo were a close second. I actually didn't mind Incubus, The Flaming Lips apart from the singer were good, and Tenacious D were amazing.

I never got all the hype about The Flaming Lips. Am I missing something? I wouldn't say that Tenacious D were amazing. They were what they were. :?

Well you would be both correct, and incorrect in saying that, because they were/are AMAZING! :thumb:
Pearl Jam:

You know, the look in Eddie's face and the shear power in his voice as he belts out the first "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE REIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGNNNNN O'ER MEEEEEE". That could be put in Webster's as the definition of passion.
See, I thought the Who blew the rest of the bands off the stage--but that might just be me... Smile

Seriously, they weren't at their best--but the Who live is still better than any other band live I've ever seen, including Pearl Jam (the one band I've seen who challenge/occasionally surpass the Who in a live setting). If you've never had the chance to see Pete Townshend live, do yourselves a favour and check 'em out in October. You will not be disappointed. As for the rest of the show...I mean, it doesn't get much better than Pearl Jam doing the Who, and I hope "The Real Me" finds its way into a few more Pearl Jam setlists. And the Foo Fighters were good, too; I thought Taylor Hawkins did a better job of channeling Keith Moon than anyone could've reasonably expected.
totally agree about Taylor and Moon
I forgot to ask.........did anyone else find it a little ironic when Sean Penn was up there talking about how The Who never sold out.....................just before they came out and performed their "CSI" medley??........ Confusedcratch: Confusedcratch:
