Well, i dont recall saying that, but that brings up a good point. It's one thing to want to know as much about the music as possible, but when an individual seeks out information like birthdays, home addresses, names of their children, aunt's name, where they like to shop, home phone number, what the inside of the Bathouse looks like, the date of their last immunization for measles, mumps and rubella, bank account information, favourite toothpaste, and so on, it gets a bit weird. Let me put it in black and white. It's ok if you happen to be in Kingston one day and happen to see Paul walk down the street and into his house. It's a different and far creepier thing to follow him home just to see where he lives. It's one thing to stumble accross their birthdays somewhere, but it's another thing to actively search them out ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS like it would make some kind of profound difference in your life.

That's because for the most part, they dont have fanatics who need to know this kind of information. The proof on this forum speaks for itself. Some of the biggest hip fans in the world could not produce two or three accurate dates. That's because it's a little creepy and nobody cares about this information. The music is all that matters. If nobody cares about that kind of information, then the band has no reason to be paranoid stricken.

The bottom line is that topics like this get a little creepy. When nobody really responded the first time you asked the question, you should have taken the hint. I was not calling you a stalker, although you seemed to take offense. For that, I apologise. In the future, I hope that you can treat myself, Chancellor, and the other Hipbasers with a little more respect and not go off on a tangent for all to see. If you choose to disagree respectfully, then fine, but if you want to call people dickheads and MoFo's then do so in a private message.

Geez!!? I sit here on the fence and watch youse guys duke it out over....WHAT? Some rock stars' birthdays? Is it so out of the ordinary to want to know your music idol's birthday? What Elvis fan doesn't know when his/her "King" was born? Maybe it's an excuse to drink beer!? Or some other deep philosophical ceremony. A REAL fan (which is, let's face it, is, after all, short for fanatic) might want to designate a 'Gord Downie' day, or Baker Gala, or, well, you must be getting the picture. Why does the NHL see fit to publish every player's birthdate on their website? Because they know and expect the fans to give a dang!! A couple of contributors to this thread seem to think that a fan wanting to know the birthdays of the members of their favorite musical group is exhibiting 'creepy stalker' tendencies!? It seems to me more likely that these contributors feel this deep-seated need to browbeat anyone who deviates from their preconceived notion of the norm for fandom. Kinda defeats all that is good and useful in a forum such as this one. MY answer to that kind of thinking, is that if you don't like the topic, stay out of it! DON'T ANSWER!! GREET THE THREAD WITH SILENCE!!! AND THE THREAD WILL PETER OUT AND DIE, AND YOU WILL HAVE YOUR WAY, AFTER ALL. I didn't keep my comments to myself because i feel that topics like this are damaging to the Hipbase's reputation. The band may be reading everything that is posted, and if, for example, plans for a private show might eventually get off the ground we don't want the band to turn us down because the members of the Hipbase are a little creepy and obsessed.
