Patrick Swayze Has Five Weeks to Live Due to Pancreatic Cancer

Patrick Swayze was told that he has five weeks to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Swayze, 55, has been sick with the disease since he was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer, but the cancer has since spread to other organs and now the Dirty Dancing star is dying.
For the past month, Swayze has been traveling to Stanford University’s cancer center for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer hopeful that the treatments will be successful, according to the National Enquirer.
Swayze received three doses of chemotherapy, causing the tumor to shrink, but less than his doctors had hoped for.
Swayze has reportedly lost more than 20 pounds in the past few weeks and is restricted to a liquid diet because he has trouble keeping down solid food.

Patrick Swayze is remaining optimistic, despite his recent diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
The actor's publicist released this statement Wednesday afternoon:
"Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

yeah. he has the cancer, but the whole 5 weeks to live thing is false
Geez, I am not really a Patrick Swayze fan, but that is too bad.
I lost my mother to Pancreatic Cancer..........survival rates are slim to nil. Standard life expectancy is 5 months.
If (and its a big if) it is caught early there is an operation that can be performed called the "whipple". Life expectancy increases to about 5 years. But there are very few cases where this operation can be done, typically PC is not caught until its later stages.
Perhaps his was caught at an early stage, but still chances of survival are not good........
Steve Jobs had PC and had surgery... now he's apparently Cancer free. (There is no crappy Apple vs Windows/PC joke in there. He really did have Pancreatic Cancer surgery.)

This is true, however Steve Jobs hit the lottery sort of speak, he had a very rare form of PC, islet cell neuroendocrine tumor. This is actually a treatable form......however it makes up 1% of all pancreatic cancer victims.
Yeah.....PC is a virtual death sentence.....because they usually can't catch it quick enough to remove the tumor... and it spreads to other organs. That's apparently what happened to Swayze.
He might have five weeks from today or he might have 5 months...either way, he's not gonna make it.
Lost a cousin to PC.He was 26 when he died and lost 50lbs in 6 months.
