oh, it's only out west so far...
$65 a pop? C'mon Eddie...
i'm sure he didn't set the ticket prices himself  and if you dont' think he's worth it, don't pay it, simple as that...nobody's forcing you to go.
Ugh, relax pal. That's the same tired arguement.

Are you sure Eddie doesn't set those prices? I'm sure he's not solely responsible, but I'd bet he has a hand in it. Maybe someone actually knows about this...

$65 for a PJ ticket? Sure. There's six guys in the band, six salaries to pay, heaps of equipment and roadies for a stadium show...Plus, I can expect that older bands charge more money...They're getting older, to leave the comfort of their families takes a little extra incentive...

But this is ultimately a minimalist theatre tour. I always thought of Eddie to be a bit of a minimalist, but who knows. I think the shows will be cool, intimate. Shit, if I was on the west coast, I'd go, I'd pay. But am I still not entitled to think it's too much money for just one man to charge?
you can think that, but it makes you seem cynical and cheap IMO.
Keeping it real and being frugal is how I'd call it...And yeah, I'd put myself in both of those categories.

But let's keep it on topic...My guess is 9 tunes from Into The Wild, 3 PJ tunes and 3 covers per night...
i think the issue is perhaps you attend too many concerts (well, no such thing as too many lol), and as a result, it's harder to fork out the $, cuz you spend a lot already on concerts...? just going out on a limb and guessing...I only get to a few "major" shows a year, what with being stuck here in Sudbury and all, so i don't mind paying out the ass for somethign i really want to see...and trust me, i pay out the ass, greyhound tix to toronto, food, sometimes accomodations...

i wish i could see Eddie Vedder for $65...but the fact is, if i want to see him it's gonna cost me at least a few hundred...
That's not the issue at all.

I've always had a bit of faith in Eddie (Though never having met him) that he does things for his fans. Or at least, him and his bandmates just keep their fans in mind. That's how they've always differed from other bands. But it appears now Ed (And PJ, I'm sure) have jumped into that "Classic rock" bracket in which they can charge whatever they want and know that fans will still attend their gigs. Maybe I'm just bitter (Or cynical, as you'd have it) about PJ making that leap.

If it were Ed and a few righteous hand-picked musicians, I could see $65. That's a few extra mouths to feed. But just Ed? Dunno, it just wreaks of a bit of an ego...But I could be wrong.

But hey, I wish I did see more shows. Apparently good bands don't come to Istanbul that often. Broken Social Scene are here for two nights in May. Wooyeah.

But let's keep this on Ed. Should be cool t'hear what he plays.

That gig gets as much press here as that cartoon of Allah in the Danish newspaper would. I played some Dire Straits at the bar the other night and the place fell flat.
lol
