Just wondering if there are any MK fans in here? North American tour dates were just announced yesterday with more to come. I noticed there was one Candadian date so far--Ottawa, ON.
Has anyone heard the new album (Kill to Get Crimson)?
I've never seen MK perform...maybe he'll add some dates that are closer so I can check him out. Guy's a guitar wizard. I haven't heard the new record....
June 24, 2008 - Red Rocks
June 26, 2008 - Las Vegas
July 1, 2008 - Portland
July 13, 2008 - Chicago
July 18, 2008 - Ottawa
July 19, 2008 - Boston
he's the man...he's got a dinosaur named after him! the knopflersaurus! lol!
I downloaded the new album off of Soulseek, so far I'm liking it more than the new Bruce album.... Here's hoping he stops in Cleveland or Buffalo

I saw MK during his tour in 2000. I think he was getting over a cold, so his singing was more gravelly than usual, but otherwise it was a great show. I will definitely go if there is a Twin Cities date on the tour.
A while ago I heard one song from the new CD on the radio...I remember liking it. I've heard mixed reviews from fans about the album. I think some people just don't care for the British folk-type music this album features.

Alot of the songs on the new album are more mellow than his previous work, its not stuff you can rock out on, more like you can sit back and mellow out listening to the music wash over you.

This is the direction he's been going in for some years now so I'm not surprised. I think some fans were hoping for a more bluesy, Sailing to Philadelphia-kind of album this time around. I should D/L it this weekend. I have to look at my email again, but I think people who bought tickets in the presale also got the new album for free, so I'm not going to buy it just yet in case there is a Twin Cities date later on I end up buying tickets for.
