There are lots of great beers out there, none are made by the big boys in either Canada or the US. I find myself buying only european brews now.
The best beer deal in Canada right now is Bavaria from Holland, $10:95 for a 6 pack of tallboys. Can't beat it, its is a nice easy drinking beer.

Well, it certainly carries a 'premium' price tag.

Perhaps the Italians won't drink Peroni because it is owned by SABMiller, a company whose shareholders are 100% foreign (USA / South Africa / UK) and mostly American (about 64%).

Though really, I don't care much about what Italians think about the beers i enjoy. I think others might enjoy it too but could be unaware of it, so I thought I'd share. :?

Speaking of SABMiller -- they also own Pilsner Urquell (Czech Republic), which I like even more than Nastro Azzurro.

Yes....and they are quite delicious.
As for the original point, I agree that is not news, I can remember my brother, who is heavily into environmental issues, learning about this and telling my family about this YEARS ago.

And Canadian beers kick American beers' asses.

'Nuff said.
