It can be a good idea but when multiple albums get released at the same time it can seem like a cash grab (GNR's Use Your Illusion I & II spring to mind immediately). But given how CDs are going down in price lately in the face of internet music, that's seeming like less of an issue.

But anyway if the band has enough material waiting to put out two good albums go for it. You can either do a case where the double is the same or the differing styles like Foo Fighters' In Your Honour.

Also, for mentioning some good double albums, I really got into BNL's Barenaked Ladies Are Me/Barenaked Ladies Are Men albums this past year. Released a few months apart but definitely in the same vein as a double album.
that BNL album was amazing. I lost the second half and can't find it anymore which is too bad as it was my favourite half.
London Calling?
Another amazng double, and if I'm not mistaken the first or one of the first double LPs ever released was Bob Dylan's - Blonde on Blonde .... certainly wasn't the end of his creativity....
The new Drive by Truckers is supposed to be a double album.
The White Album - amazing stuff ... well except for Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Confusedcratch:

Fair enough.

Sheer ignorance.
Ignorance? Having heard EVERY SINGLE commercially released Led Zeppelin at least twice or three times does not constitute ignorance. Opinion, yes. Maybe even unfair judgment. Not ignorance.

All zero of them?

Opinion can be based on ignorance....

I think it's entirely possible not to like Zeppelin. But to assert that they "fucking suck," you'd have to make some kind of argument that they actually did suck. As in, they lacked musical skill, or their music was bad art (which is not the same thing as not to your taste).

Otherwise, we might think that for you, "they fucking suck" means nothing more than "I don't like them," i.e. that you mistake your subjective tastes for something more carefully reasoned.

Which would qualify as ignorant.

Well ya. But that's more of a common knowledge/fact, and not an opinion!
