Hey, I'm booking a tour in the east right now (ontario, ottawa, quebec), and would love it if you guys gave me the names of some cool clubs there (in any town). My band is The Deep Dark Woods. We've been #1 for the past 3 weeks on the Folk/roots/blues charts (college/community radio) across Canada. We've never toured there before, so any help would be muchly appreciated!!! Well I'm from Hamilton and I don't know if you planned on coming here but our two main venues are The Underground and The Casbah. There are a few others but unless you play The Underground or The Casbah coming to Hamilton is a waste of your bands time.
In Ottawa, the live music mecca is definitely Barrymore's. Next on the list would be Zaphod's then you're looking at Babylon, Mavericks or The Dominion. The Dom is a punk bar so I'm not sure your vibe would fit in too well but the other venues are pretty much multi-discipline.

If you guys get a chance, try t'book a gig in Guelph...an hour out of Toronto...rRght before exams kick in and the kids are likely t'want t'get their last ya-ya's out...It's a cool city with a very welcoming indie music scene...Try Van Gogh's ear, the Vinyl, the Ebar or the Albion Hotel...all very wpoen t'new bands...best of luck t'you.
