I think this summarizes the sound of it nicely.
thank you sir!!
Wow - this is a great album!
On my second listen through now - just bought it this morning!
If you haven't D/L'ed it yet, you should!
It won't disappoint!
If you only purchased the digital download (like me) how do you get the second disc's tracks? Will I be able to purchase or download those tracks later somehow?
You can download them for sure, if you don't mind not paying. I'd imagine they'll be released on a proper CD or in a digital format once the discbox drops, if you feel obligated to spend your money.
Most Fans Paid $0 for Radiohead Album

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Radiohead let its fans decide how much to pay for a digital copy of the band's latest release, "In Rainbows," and more than half of those who downloaded the album chose to pay nothing, according to a study by a consumer research firm.
Some 62 percent of the people who downloaded "In Rainbows" in a four-week period last month opted not to pay the British alt-rockers a cent. But the remaining 38 percent voluntarily paid an average of $6, according to the study by comScore Inc.
Radiohead broke with its past practice of releasing its music in CD format and through a major record label when it released its seventh studio album online itself. The biggest wrinkle was the band's decision to let fans pay as much or as little as they wanted to download a copy.
The results of the study were drawn from data gathered from a few hundred people who are part of comScore's database of 2 million computer users worldwide. The firm, which has permission to monitor the computer users' online behavior, did not provide a margin of error for the study's results.
Between Oct. 1 and Oct. 29, about 1.2 million people visited the Web site the band set up for fans to download the album, comScore said Monday. The research firm did not say how many people in its study actually bought the album.
Among U.S. residents, about 40 percent who downloaded the album paid to do so. Their average payment was $8.05, the firm said.
Some 36 percent of the fans outside the U.S. who downloaded the album opted to pay; on average, those fans paid $4.64, according to the study.
Radiohead's U.S.-based publicist said Tuesday the band had no comment on the study.
The online release sent shock waves through the recording industry, with some hailing it as a shrewd move at a time of declining CD sales industrywide and others writing it off as a publicity stunt that amounted to the band giving away its music.
The band, which also offered fans the option of buying a lavish box set for about $82, plans to release the album in CD format some time next year.

Looks like it will be released the usual way
soon enough:
The End of The Beginning
Hello Everyone,
The download area that is “In Rainbows” will be shutting its doors on the 10th December 2007.
A big thank you to everyone who came and downloaded the music. It’s been the most positive thing we’ve done and we hope you shared the experience with others.
The discbox will still be available from the w.a.s.t.e store here until they have all gone. We then have no plans to make further stock.
For those of you who wish to buy In Rainbows in the usual way, it will be available on CD/Vinyl and download from traditional outlets from the 31st December 2007.
The record will be released by TBD Records in North America and XL Recordings for the rest of the world.
Thanks for everything.
No mention of the second disc, though. It might be limited to the di$cbox.
I grabbed the 2nd disk off Limewire, all except MK 1 and MK 2.
Just picked up the album tonight at HMV for only $10. I'm on my 2nd listen through and I'm very impressed. It's much more guitar-oriented than their last couple of records (thank god), and it's nice to see they've brought back some of the gorgeous melodies that made albums like The Bends and Ok Computer so compelling. There are some very beautiful songs on this disc.
the discbox was worth the $80
Radiohead to webcast New Year performance

Radiohead are to broadcast a performance of their latest album on television and online on New Year's Eve - the same day In Rainbows is released on CD and on vinyl.
Radiohead to release a pre-recorded set to coincide with the release of In Rainbows on vinyl and CD
Radiohead's Thom Yorke
The pre-recorded set will go out on the cable and satellite channel Current TV, and online on Current.com and Radiohead.tv.
"This is a wee celebration of the release of the physical manifestation of In Rainbows," lead singer Thom Yorke wrote on the band's website.
The album is released on CD and vinyl on 31 December in the UK and 1 January in the US, after being put online by the band in October.
In an industry first, the British band allowed fans to digitally download the album for any amount they felt like paying.

The band, famous for hits such as Creep, Paranoid Android and Karma Police, told fans "it's up to you".
Although fans could pay as little as a 45-pence admin charge for In Rainbows, many chose to pay a lot more.
One fan on the Telegraph website said: "I'd be surprised if even die-hard fans of Radiohead are paying only a few pence for the album.
"Personally, I paid 6 pounds, about 12 dollars. Cheaper than I would have paid for a CD in a store here in the US."
Fans will be able to see the pre-recorded performance from midnight GMT on New Year's Eve.
Yorke said it would include them playing "some songs and other bits".

Fortune should have talked to the band....
Thom Yorke's revealed that Radiohead have made more money from digital downloads of their new album 'In Rainbows' than digital sales of all the other Radiohead albums put together.

Granted, that is just taking downloads into account and not CD sales, so it will be interesting to see how many In Rainbows CDs the band sells.
How do the 2 LP's sound, I just ordered mine and I'm getting all exited :jump
