It's been oppressive here....today is 96 degrees F, with a "heat index" of 106. Forecast says Thurday could hit 100 F....and that just doesn't happen much around these parts.
How is it where you live?
Same here in Toronto. Today is a holiday in Ontario ("Civic Holiday" is how most people know it; Some call it Simcoe Day, others call it "Colonel By Day") and it's too hot to really enjoy any outdoor activities.
last week here in buffalo area two days we hit 92 90's tomorrow
was in Niagara Falls last wed man was it hot there and shit i haven't been there in years all the stuff they have built up there is crazy
expensive but you only turn 40 once

i'm sorry, but unless you speak in Celcius, a young Canadian pup like me has no clue how hot it is...lol...
I can't believe thathere are people out there that don't believe in global warming. Discuss.

Yeah, it has been pretty hot here - but the humidity has been low so that makes it not so bad.
An easy way to convert Celsius to fahrenheit:
Double it and add 30 - and you get pretty close. (and I guess F to C is -30 and undouble it)
Living so close to Canada - this really helps.
One might say it's time to get some reprieve from the heat in the frozen food section...
Dana's math will get you close, but if you are at your computer, just google it as google has a built in conversion program and calculator, etc.
Search for "95 fahrenheit to celsius".
The weekend just gone was beautiful in London. It was about 25 degrees C both days, and not a cloud in the sky. 8)
Today was nice, but not as hot - which is fine by me as I was at work...
It's been crazy hot in Calgary as well. Strangely it's also been very humid here lately. Usually our summers are pretty dry, but there were a couple of days last week when the heat and humidity reminded me of Ottawa. Global warming sucks.
Not to totally dismiss global warming or anything, but if Environment Canada's top guy is basically explaining this heat wave by saying "Hey, summer happens", then I tend to believe him.

Just chalk it up to the dog days of summer.
Environment Canada senior climatologist David Phillips said there's nothing unusual about the excruciating heat wave that's gripped the better part of Central and Eastern Canada, prompting utilities to beg consumers to conserve electricity. "This is not a head shaker," Phillips said Thursday on what was technically the second and arguably the worst day of the heat wave.
"This is normal life and weather in Central Canada, but it still is tough to deal with... from both a health and from a comfort point of view. It's not climate change, it's something that we've always had to deal with."
Phillips said temperatures across Ontario, Quebec and into Eastern Canada were expected to reach the low 40s with the humidity, while the West Coast was to remain a comfortable - though slightly hotter than usual - 25 to 28 C.
Phillips said the weather has been causing problems in a variety of ways, Citing a tropical storm in Newfoundland as well as the blistering temperatures.
"Even in Montreal, where they don't get as many pollution days as (Ontario does), they also are talking about a smog warning and a high heat and humidity warning, so the weather map is filled with all kinds of misery, hardship and misfortune," he said.
"We have UV indexes of high, we have heat alerts, we have humidex alerts, we have smog warnings, we have high heat advisories. My God, you better hide under the bed because there's a lot of weather that can get in your way."
(etc. etc.)

Ahh, the "Double It And Add 30" rule. I've informed many an American tourist when fishing season rolled around.
Edmonton's been really toasty this summer, hovering in the 30-40 range far too often for my liking. Luckily a lot of those days have had evening storms to cool things down, but still, it's tough to deal with. Trying to fall asleep in that kind of weather is among the worst things ever.
St. Louis is supposed to be one of the (if not THE) hottest cities in the US today and tomorrow. Highs of 100 and 102 today and tomorrow before humidity. I'll be inside for every minute I can.
Currently here in the Washington DC area, its 93F/33C, with a heat index of 107F/41C. Ugh. And with all the humidity, it doesn't really cool off at night. Our overnight forecast low is 81F/27C. That's just wrong. The forecast for the rest of the week is for more of the same.
Fall cannot come soon enough for me.

I don't think too many people refuse to believe that Earth is amidst a warming trend.
Many are, however, skeptical of the notion that this is attributable in any large part to the actions of mankind.
This planet had seen fluctuations between periods of warming and periods of cooling
long before man arrived. While human actions have added, and continue to add greenhouse gasses to our atmosphere, many feel these contributions are miniscule in the scope of this natural warming trend, and that the warming of the earth would be occurring with or without human contributions.
Count me in the "skeptical" crowd.
