I have heard from Sam Feldman's agents and rec'vd the form to book the band. If anyone on here is still interested please get in touch. They do ask for half of the payment, I'm not a rich person, so any creative ideas on getting this happening would be appreciated.
best,
tina
Okay...did they pump out a figure for us to work with...as in what type of money are we talking for HALF??
AGES ago...like in 1993 or so...we tried to book them at our high school. Back then it was $7,000 for the band. I can imagine now what it would be worth for a private show! But count me in financially to assist!

GREAT IDEA DUDE
I've been a fan for years and didn't actually see them live until Feb. 17/99. I got tickets third row and 100th meridian blew me away. I was hooked. I'll never forget. Took my son to bayfest this year got real close for two songs and the crowd sucked. A small venue would be absolutly awesome. If I can help in any way let me know!!!

Hi Tina & co.
First-time poster, long-time reader.
This is the coolest idea going. I am willing to give whatever it takes to go to a show like this.
I live in Kingston, and if there's anything i can do to help, let me know.

This sounds like a great idea, I would definitely be interested in attending

This is cool, and I'd say "I'm in," but for the matter of not knowing the price, location, etc.
The problem with these things (as anyone who's ever done something like this knows) is that half the people who said they were in never follow through and this leaves someone holding the bag. I wouldn't want to see this happen here.

Yes, there would have to be a way of collecting in advance - going to the Hip saying "We have this many people who have given us a nonrefundable deposit" which would show commitment. The money would only be returned if the show did not proceed.

i`ve seen ontario listed as a possible location but i think winnipeg would be better as far as a central location goes and i am sure that the bud country folks would be a little more receptive to the idea then

As long as the location for this event is centralized and on a reasonable night of the week. I think I can speak for alot of people when I say I would be in at all costs. This is a great idea i think for "hipbasers" to meet. But there def, would be alot of work that would go into it as well. Just let me know if you need anything.

there would have to be stipulations:
We'd have to find a venue with a round stage so there would be a lot of front row access
The setlist would have to be 50 songs long
at least 1 30 minute rant

I hope everyone knows I am joking but....
how will we ever decide what songs they should play? Someone is bound to be disappointed in the setlist.....

I just joined, but this seems like an awesome idea. I offer my support and assistance in anyway. If it happens my only request is Nautical
