So the reason the Hip were playing 2 shows in Bala was to get ready for the tour, but also because they were up their for Johnny Fay's Wedding.
The wedding was at Taboo Golf course (Mike Wiers Home course) on Friday near Gravenhurst. I know after the second night I tired to get out on the porch again and was denied since no VIP action. I wonder if they played another acoustic set or not? Maybe they decided to save Emperor Penguin for that.

I doubt it, there was no acoustic set the 1st night either. The band left the venue pretty much right away on Wednesday.
Having had the chance to meet Kathryn backstage after a few shows I've gotta say that she is one hell of a cool girl, so personable and down to earth.
Johnny, you are a lucky man... how can it get any better than a pretty blonde woman who likes to drink beers and talk sports???

Saw them together back stage at the Ste. Adele show last summer. They looked cute together, dancing along to the Weakerthans.
